In first tri I had NO desire for sweets. Fast forward to 20 weeks and all I want is dessert ALL.DAY.LONG! I've been trying not to bake much bc DH doesn't eat sweets. I will do chocholate milk occasionally and that works but I was hoping for some other tips or ideas.
I like to make cookies with whole wheat flour and use half the sugar. I never notice the difference when I use less sugar. Then I don't feel quite so bad about eating them.
Have you tried the "smudgies" on pinterest? All natural PB mixed with a banana spread on graham crackers. Imade a big batch and froze them, they were awesome. The banana/PB mix in the freezer was like ice cream!
This sounds delish!
Frozen grapes and really any fruit cold seems to be satisfying these days.
I'm a big fan of this Greek yogurt I found at the grocery store that has little pieces of dove dark chocolate you dump in. I forget the name of the brand but it's tasty.
Any kind of fruit crisp or crumble (apple, peach, berry). Only put sugar in the topping, which also contains healthy oats. Serve with plain or vanilla yogurt if you want something creamy with it.
I've been pretty bad with sweets lately, but I find that some things help. Kiwi are good, and are in season during the winter, which is a bonus. They have lots of fiber, so they fill me up, and the sweet/sourness is like candy. I also like whole wheat toast with jam, again because of fillingness and sweetness.
Also, I can eat milk chocolate alllll day, but I like the Lindt Madagascar 70% dark chocolate. The serving size is 3 pieces, and it's actually pretty easy to stop at three. It's great if I super need chocolate, because I know I can control myself.
Another idea is homemade jello--the unflavored uncolored gelatin that yuk mix with whatever fruit juice you want. There's some great ones with no artifices colors or flavors and they make delicious jello. I randomly was craving this last week and it hit the spot!
I also like to do oatmeal with some maple syrup on it. Filling and decadent tasting.
I have no idea if they are available outside of California, but they are so amazing.
I have been looking for these forever!! My friend in NYC has had them but I can't find them anywhere, it makes me sad as they sound amazing.
They are seriously so good, and they really do taste just like cotton candy. They are sweet, not sour at all. They are just a hybrid grape, not GMO or sprayed with flavor (I am way too invested in these grapes). Here, they are sold at Sprouts. I would imagine that if you get any locally, they'd be at a produce-heavy store or at a fancier type store, like whole foods or Nugget. I haven't actually seen them at the store recently, but we did have them all of last summer.
