I would love to start getting into Yoga, but would like to try at home first (for free) to see if I like it before I start taking classes at a studio. Any recommendations for sites to check out?
I like doyogawithme.com, but I'll just throw out my two cents that I think it is helpful to take a few classes from an instructor first as they will give you tips on developing good form.
I agree with gt, even a few classes will give you the awareness you need to develop proper form. I did a lot of downward facing dog to stretch, I was corrected 15 seconds into my first class. Now it's even better.
I agree with the others! Also, you may find that yoga in a studio and yoga on a video are just simply different experiences, and you may really enjoy one but not the other. $10-$15/class is totally reasonable - I'm in the MCOL are and most studios around me are $20/class for drop ins. You can check living social/groupon for a deal, or some studios offer intro specials or punch cards for a slightly lower cost per class.
Another vote for taking a class! I thought I hated yoga until I took a class at a studio with a teacher I really liked. It's a totally different experience than doing a DVD at home. And it can be really helpful to have someone help with your form, etc when you're just starting out. $10-15 per class sounds reasonable to me.
$10-$15 is reasonable. I second the recommendation to take a class. I know the two studios in my neighborhood frequently offer introductory specials which are a VERY good deal, so maybe check out a few close to your home and see if they offer anything like that.
