Both are on costco coupon book this time around--my dad always bought the scoop away, but the fresh step is cheaper (by 50cents). What is te difference? Does fresh step really not clump? (That's what h thinks). I thought all cat littler clumped.
Not all cat litter clumps, but if it says "clumping" then it does. I don't know what difference there is between those two as I don't use them.
I'm a little strange, but we use half Arm & Hammer Super Scoop (fragrance free) and half World's Best, which is corn-based. The clay-based ones (like Scoop Away, Fresh Step, A&H, etc) produce a lot of dust that not only coats things but can cause health issues for cats (some links showing it can get in the urinary tract because it is so fine and cause UTI or urine crystals). However, I don' think the corn-based controls odors as well. Therefore, we use half and half as the corn significantly cuts down on the dust production. Whatever you do, just don't get scented. Cats have significantly stronger noses than us and I can only imagine how yucky that crappy perfume in an enclosed litter box must be to them.
