All of you runners are so inspiring to me!
I've been trying to ad some running into my regular work out routine. Yesterday I ran for 30 minutes on the TM. That's pretty impressive for me. I wont even bother saying how many miles I went because it's laughable. I'm hoping to keep with the 30 minutes and just work on getting faster/going further with in that timefame. 30 minutes is about all I can do with out being bored to tears.
I had a 7k race on Saturday. I wanted to see if I could get close to my PR from 2011 - 7:45 pace. I managed a 7:50 pace and have a feeling I could have got that 7:45 if it weren't so crowded. I definitely had more in the tank when I finished. Oh well. I was over 2 minutes faster than last year, so that is awesome.
If I do this race again, I might go for the 1/2 because the 7k is getting out of hand. 10,000+ finishers.
Dang breezy8407! You are fast. My pace ended up being 8:45.
I was pleasantly surprised with how spread out people were at the beginning. I mean, it wasn't perfect, but I thought I would have to walk the first half mile or so and that wasn't the case. I didn't cross the start line until almost 9:30am, though, so I did do a lot of weaving around people.
Anyway, congrats on your time!
Thanks that is a great pace, too!
I think I crossed the start line a few minutes after 9 and it was still crowded! I couldn't believe how jam packed the start corral was when I walked back after the finish. Yikes!

That's awesome! 30 min on the treadmill is tough because it's all a mindgame. Don't worry about your speed, it comes with time or it doesn't (see also: me), but it never becomes less of a stellar workout.
