I was scheduled to be induced the night of March 6. So I had stopped work, DH was working from home, and all of our bags were packed. And then guess what- my water breaks 2 hours before I am supposed to go in! We rushed to the hospital and I was still barely dilated. Not much progress overnight, so in the morning they gave me pitocin (also got the epi). Things progressed quickly after that, and from the time I started pushing, it only took 35 minutes. Baby Shayli was born at 8:54 am on March 7. I had some internal tearing which was painful.
We had a few issues after bringing her home- jaundice and weight loss of 11 ounces. So we had to go see the doc for 5 straight mornings. Fortunately both issues are good now.
The bad issue for me is that I have a severe rash that is on my tummy, back, wrist, arms, and my FACE. It looks like someone punched me in the face a few times. And it is very, very itchy all over. Things would be very smooth if it weren't for this. I think it may be something called PUPPS, but our friend is a dermatologist and I am going to see him later today. The bad thing is that our newborn photo session is tomorrow
Other than that, things have been great! We love her so much and it still feels surreal. Family has helped out a ton, especially my sister-in-law who has been staying with us all week. I'll admit we'd be really lost if it were just DH and I.
Congratulations! She is a cutie. That's so funny that your water broke right before you were induced. I hope your recovery goes well and your rash turns out to be nothing.
