My best friend did! He was in the last batch of e-mails and was freaking out all day while waiting. This will be his fourth year in a row running in it. Last year he bombed his time, and really wanted to redeem himself this year. I am so happy for him; I was anxious all day waiting to find out and I'm not even the one running.
Yeah rejected. If anyone is looking to sell a bib this summer. Please let me know. I think this is the marathon for me unless there is another local marathon worth running in the fall.

I've run Baltimore and Freedom's Run. I would recommend both, but they aren't particularly fast. NCR Trail, north of Baltimore, is fast and pretty, but the hills at the very end are a ass kicker. It is the weekend after Thanksgiving which works out well with carbo loading. That is the extent of my local marathon knowledge. I'm sure you'll be able to find a bib come Summer though. I've never heard of anyone not being able to find one. Check local running clubs.

There is a full on the c&o canal in Sept, the weekend before Boston registration opens. It is super low key and not chipped, but if you happen to BQ by your watch the organizer will adjust your time so you can qualify. (The year I ran the half it took me a couple minutes to cross the starting line) I wasn't a fan of this race, but my husband loves it cause he does most of his long runs on the trail.

I ran Richmond last year. It was a good race, not too hilly, and very easy logistically compared to MCM (I stayed in a hotel right near the start line and people didn't line up in corrals until literally 5 minutes before the start). It's also my marathon PR (faster than MCM). It's big enough that there are a lot of people on the course (which I like), but you still have plenty of breathing room and you can easily pass people (unlike the mass of humanity in MCM). It also doesn't sell out, so you could train for MCM in hopes of getting a bib transfer, but then decide to do Richmond relatively last-minute.
My lottery losing streak continues. Rejection e-mail received, and now I have an excuse to peruse Marathon Guide guilt free.
Come south & run Savannah! I know not everyone is a RnR fan (I'm pretty neutral), but I had a really positive experience with this half. My friends who ran the full didn't have any complaints. If you stay downtown, it is really easy logistically, and it all went very smoothly. It wasn't overly congested, and there was very little bobbing and weaving. I had to pass people, but most of the time, I felt like I had my own space on the course. It's not all through the beautiful downtown, but a good chunk of the first half is, and I've heard really positive things about the later miles through Savannah State. It's my top fall race contender, mainly because of proximity to me, but also because it's a pretty solid choice.
If any H&F ladies want to transfer/sell their bibs - I would be interested. It's a great race and I'm (a little) bummed we didn't go ahead & do the lottery. My H's work schedule is terrible during spring/fall, but i could convince my sister to go with me for a fun, long weekend.

I have a small, irrational vent. My husband got into the MCM lottery. He's excited about it. I guess I'm happy for him? But not really. LOL.
We both ran MCM last year, and we were like ships passing in the night from July-October. With both of us working FT, marathon training, and taking care of our kid, it was kind of rough. I thought we decided we wouldn't do it again. But now he decided to run it anyway. I sent him a text that said, "Congratulations. I'll see you in November." I'm mean.
Sooo, apparently I'M IN! I received an email that my CC was rejected (security breach issues) and a link and a code where I could change payment. Crazy.
