I love my iPad, and one of the reasons why I got it was for the Kindle app with it.
However, the last few times I took it outdoors, the device got so hot I got a warning message. (Granted, it was in its leather case, so not sure if this helped to contribute to the iPad getting too warm?)
Has anyone else experienced this? I want to take on vacation with us but I'm also concerned I'll get the "too hot" warning and I'm going to be super frustrated!
I'd honestly be more worried about getting sand in various nooks and crannies, but I hate sand in general.
BTW, your blog was so great to read before our trip to Japan! I'm working on my blog post about our trip now, but we loved it and I definitely want to go back to Tokyo.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
I've used all of mine (both my iPad1 and all three of my iPad2s [Yes, three. I like exercising my warranty]) outside, and I've never had that problem. But I've never used it for an extended period of time in temperatures above 90°F.
Is it the latest model? I have heard of people having problems with the new version getting too hot in general, just from its own heat, but I don't think they've gotten a heat warning. Just toasty fingers from trying to hold it.
My iPad 2 does that. If its in the sun and it's warm I don't even bother. When it's sunny out it is hard to use because of the glare on the screen as well. I have a nook that I use on the beach or at the pool and it doesn't have the same issues and it also doesn't have the glare. It's def the advantage of having both an iPad and an ereader.
