My mom was just in Jordan at a resort by the Dead Sea and she said it bummed her out to see all the moms lounging by the pool in long sleeves and pants. It was super hot and she felt so bad for them.
She didn't mention what the little girls were wearing.

I'm kind of bullying DH into buying a new car. Mine was recently totaled and we are getting an insurance check for a fair value, but it was an older car (2002) so the check isn't even close to the price of a decent, new(ish) car.

DH is being all responsible about things, saying that we can be a one-car house for a while. We live in the city, close to transit (he can take the train practically door to door to work), and he has told me that I can use his car and he will take transit for a while. We will save money and get a used car in a few months when we can pay cash for it.

BUT...I HATE driving his car. And the cars I am considering are offering .9% financing right now. And I WANT A NEW CAR.

I have a stack of dirty plates in the bedroom. They're not *really* dirty, but I had a sandwich or something before bed (shut up, team fatass here). I just can't seem to care enough to take them to the kitchen. Oh well.

DH has been on business trips for 5.5 of the past 7 weeks; he gets home tomorrow night (and leaves again in a week). Part of me wants to clean the house so it's all nice for him and we don't have to spend the weekend cleaning (and can thus have more snuggling and sexy times)...but on the other hand, it's been a stressful work week, and I'm having way too much fun playing around with the new board here!

We were at an awesome beach in Tobago today. Pigeon Point beach is the name, from my understanding it is like a state park here with a small admission fee, great facilities, etc.

Anyway there was a very international crowd there which was neat. There was one family (perhaps group of families) where the women were all wear the full robes / headscarves commonly seen in the Middle East. It made me really sad that the female children who were about ages 3-8 that they had to swim in their FULL CLOTHES while their brothers got to swim in trunks. The children didn't really seem bothered though, but it bugged me more than it should. I guess I am more of a cultural imperialist than is healthy.
