We have a just-out-of-college girl who lives with her parents and is nanny for a family nearby. She has stayed at our house and taken care of our dog (feeds her, walks her, plays with her) when we're gone, and I know she does it for lots of other families. She charges $20/day or $150/week.

My brother stays here free of charge to take care of 3 cats and 2 dogs but we keep food and alcohol stocked do he's good. $50 sounds reasonable for a couple days especially if you are providing food and booze.

Otherwise, DS- who lives with his mom and dad, gets $10/day for cats including litter box duty. Medication is extra. The good kennel is $16/cat/day. So about half or $50-$60.
