You guys! I'm super stoked. I am a born and raised die hard Wichita State fan. I have been on cloud nine since we won the Missouri Valley Conference championship two weekends ago. I've been in touch with the Wichita state alumni assn to plan a watch party with other displaced Kansans so I can cheer on the Shocks with friends.
And then! And then!
Dad texted yesterday that they got four tickets to the game. I'm thinking, awesome! Mom, Dad, Grandma, and little sis J can go, along with little sis S who plays in the pep band. They will have so much fun!
But wait! Dad already has a ticket and DO I WANT TO MEET THEM IN STL?? Heck yes!
I'm so excited. Booked a flight this morning.
So H&F, help me! I have to run a 10 mile training run Saturday morning. Where should I run? Will it be warm enough for an outdoor run? I don't know the city at all. I think we might be staying near the arch.
Yes, I am renting a car so can go wherever. Also willing to run a 10-mile race and use it as a training run.
I have easily done 10 miles in forest park, so I would go there.
Yeah here's what I'd suggest - do a few miles from the arch into downtown along Market Street past the old courthouse. It's kind of an open block along there with lots of art and fountains and neat stuff to see. That'll only get you about 3-4 miles though. Then drive over to Forest Park and finish up there where there's plenty of trails to enjoy.
How fun! Also off topic but I always giggle at their name. The shockers. Haha yeah, I have the mind of a teenage boy
OMG don't even get me started. I grew up attending hundreds of WSU games over 17 years, plus Thanksgivings and Christmases home during college. In the ten years since I moved away, probably instigated by the student section, the entire arena now raises their hands in the obscene hand gesture! My dad and little sisters included. I am embarrassed/apalled and refuse to join in (so far).
Back in my day, we kept it classy! **wobbles cane**

Forest Park is hands down the best place to get in 10 miles. You "could" get them in downtown, but it would be a lot of zig-zagging and with the traffic situation, probably not a consistent run.
If you go to the visitor's center at Forest Park and go out to the main path - towards the road, not the parking- you'll hit the "Main Trail" which if you stay on it, one lap is 6 miles (so super easy to make it 10 or 12 if feeling up to it).
It's a fantastic 6 mile course with hills and flat parts and trees and tunnels and plenty of restrooms along the way
