This is years ago but something happened to my medela Pisa at one point. I had to take off a cover, push the suction thing all the way in. It was cockeyed. That fixed it.
Is it a Medela? I believe their warranty for pumps are 1 year. Their # is 1-800-435-8316
They have great customer service! My Freestyle with DD randomly stopped working right 7-8 months after I started using it. I frantically called them and they overnighted me a brand new one without hesitation. I didn't need my receipt, their just ask for some #s off the pump. They sent a packing label for me to return the old one.
I agree with PP. Medela's customer service is fantastic, so if you have a Medela, give them a call. I had a problem with my rented symphony and it turned out I needed new tubing. They overnighted it to me and didn't charge for the tubing or the shipping.
I'd definitely call customer service for whatever brand you have. Hopefully they can help you troubleshoot or send you a replacement.
I called last week about my Medela (that I got through insurance). It was losing suction. They walked me through the troubleshooting steps and that didn't really work. They asked for my address and sent me a new pump - overnight. I was very impressed with their customer service.
