I've been thinking about looking for a new job. I currently work in a super small company (4 people in office) and I'm really burnt out. There are some days I like my job but 9/10 I really don't. I've always been brought up that if you don't like your job then it is time to move on to something that you can enjoy.
This was my first real job out of college so I've never had to quit for the reason of moving to another company. It has always been because I was moving back to school. So I have a few questions.
1) If a job posting sounds like a good fit but they don't list any of the compensation details is it out of line to email (their requested mode of communication) and ask for information about this so that I don't waste my time and theirs with an interview if the compensation isn't right?
2) How do I go about putting in my two weeks notice? In person? Write a formal email?
1. Typically there is a phone screen these days, and it's okay to ask then what the salary range is, in my experience. Sometimes they offer it outright.
2. In person, then followed with a letter of resignation outlining your last day and where to send your final pay.

Thanks Jaylea, I completely forgot about the phone screening.
