DS (just turned 5) discovered Pokemon on Netflix this weekend and loves it. From what I've seen it seems pretty tame. Anything I should be concerned about (unhappy themes, character death, anything like that?) It looks like this series (Black and White) starts with season 14, and DS seems fine with that. Anything we should particularly catch (series of the t.v. show or movies)? We checked out the Black movie and the White movie and they basically looked like episodes of television squished together. :-)
My 4 yr old DS and I have been working our way through the original series season on Netflix and I haven't noticed anything inappropriate for his age. There is of course the mild violence with the poke battles. I've only ever seen the original series and the first few movies so I don't really know if the later series contain darker themes.
what I watched of the original was pretty G-rated I dunno about the new XY show, but I'd imagine the most intense is pokemon theft or really tough battles that they need teamwork to solve. It is geared to younger kids. I remember searching with my mom to get my brother, who was 8, a charazard card when it was super popular.
