Plan for the week? We've got a man down! DS has a stomach bug, and I expect we will all get hit. I started out this training cycle with stomach virus hell, so I guess this is bringing it full circle B/c we've done this song and dance before, I'm throwing out the schedule. I was able to get in 12 this morning with 4 x1200, and have the 3 hour easy paced long run planned for Saturday before DS's lacrosse game.
Do you have your time goals set yet for the marathon? Do you try to set a base and stretch goal (several levels)? My goal is to get under 3:25, but I will adjust when I have a weather forecast. I am not bothering with a stretch goal b/c it is more about the experience. I feel so lucky to be able to run this year.
What shoes do you run in? Mizuno Wave Inspires
Any troubles this week? See above.
Any awesome breakthroughs or great small moments? I ran my 1200's in 6:05 pace this morning <) 2 weeks ago I did the same speedwork at a 6:25 pace.
Plan for the week? Trying to be flexible and see how I feel. At this point I've fully abandoned my "plan" and I'm just focusing on running about every other day and working toward two solid 18-20 milers over the next 3 weeks.
Do you have your time goals set yet for the marathon? Do you try to set a base and stretch goal (several levels)? I'm still hoping and training for a 3:59. May have a faster stretch goal depending on how the next few weeks go & how race weather is.
What shoes do you run in? Mizuno Wave Rider 15
Any troubles this week? Sore ribs/ pulled and strained muscles around rib cage. It's not fun, but I'm glad it's not more serious.
Any awesome breakthroughs or great small moments? Nothing big this past week. I had a nice, peaceful run in light snow this morning though. Felt pretty good!
What are you training for and when? Andy Payne Marathon, probably Sept 14 (why won't they just announce the date already?!) 24 the Hard Way ultra (12hr road option), Oct 25
Plan for the week? 3 miles tomorrow, 3 miles on Thurs, 4-6 miles on Sat.
Do you have your time goals set yet for the marathon? Do you try to set a base and stretch goal (several levels)? Today is day 1 of a 31-week training plan that I made (lol). I always have at least 2 goals, and I set them up as A is my obtainable goal, and B is my "OMG my world would rock if I made this time" goal. So, I think these are my goals (subject to change): AP: A: PR (current is 4:43:02) B: sub 4:30
24THW: A: keep going for 12 hours B: 50 miles in 12hrs
What shoes do you run in? Brooks Pureflow 2
Any troubles this week? My legs are so trashed from being on the gym bike for my work gym challenge. Thankfully, we won on Sat, so that's over. That's also why yesterday and today are rest days, and why this week will be a light one. Have to ease back in.
Any awesome breakthroughs or great small moments? I ran a sub-30 5K on the 16th. My time was 29:09. It's not quite this week, but it was the last time I ran. Not bad for 37F (felt like 21F) weather with 30mph winds.

Do you have your time goals set yet for the marathon? Do you try to set a base and stretch goal (several levels)? No goals..just survival, before cutoffs! So, I guess that means 14 hours! I even made up a survival plan -- runaroundaroo.com/2014/03/19/quad-rock-50m-plan/
What shoes do you run in? A mix -- Mizuno Ascend, Saucony Xodus on trails usually
Any troubles this week? My back is killing me. I don't know what I did to jack it up, but it is pissed!
Any awesome breakthroughs or great small moments? I've had a weird hot-spot-feeling thing off and on with my heel for a few months - went to get fitted for shoes and a physical therapist happened to be working - its my soleus muscle in my calf pulling on my tendons causing inflammation. Feels so good to know what it is!
