The baby has two perma -rosy cheeks which we manage well. He also has a nasty patch in his groin area. Poor twig and berries! It looks awful and nothing calms it.
Aquaphor and Cerave worked wonders for us (carter had horrible eczema on his cheeks.) The trick was doing it often and consistently and putting it on right after a bath before drying off (to trap in the moisture.) Poor bunny.
B has really bad eczema. He has a few prescriptions from the dermatologist. We also use Cerave. I've found that giving him a dose of allergy meds at night really helps to ease his scratching.
I got on this board by accident, but i saw this post and had to answer.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE whatever you do, don't use steroid cream/ointment on your kids. Please. I used topical steroids on and off since my 20's and now I'm in topical steroid withdrawal. It's AWFUL. You can read all about it online
Basically, your skin becomes addicted to the steroids and you need stronger doses over time. Then, you're basically "chasing" the eczema across the body with the topical steroids b/c they no longer work. Which is when you have to stop using them and go into withdrawal. Months and months of oozing, swollen, cracked red skin, chills, insomnia, night sweats, INSANE itching.
