I survived and had an awesome race! This was the longest distance I've run since getting back into running last fall. I had to start from square 1 with C25K after a many-year hiatus.
The "Spring Forward" Distance Run was not very spring-y, 36 at race time and I was freezing at first. The course was through and around my favorite area park, with a lot of rolling hills, farms and horses to look at. I held an excellent pace (for me) the whole time- averaged 9:38/mile, and came in at 1 hour 29 mins, beating my goal by 1 minute. and I almost cried at the end- I love running, and I'm so thankful that I can be out there and feel strong.
I'm also thankful for the Guiness that's waiting for me later :-)
