Ugh. I've been in denial all morning, but I think I need to prepare myself to run my half tomorrow in the rain. Any tips? I just bought a hat and Aquaphor.
Its supposed to be in the mid 40s and windy with 30 mph wind gusts towards the end of the race.
If I can get through this, I'll be extra badass, right?
You are already a badass, so you've got this. I second a hat, aquafor and liberally apply that shit everywhere. Have a trashbag for before the race to stay as dry as you can, and have dry socks/shoes in the car for afterwards. A windbreaker jacket is your best bet for top layer, in the 40's and wind I'd do a tank, long sleeve, and a light windbreaker personally. If you have gloves with the windbreaker sleeve that go overtop, wear those too.

You most definitely will be a badass. I had very similar conditions for my half today. I wore tights, because the rain was super cold and whipping at my legs. On top, I had a ss wicking tee and a wind jacket that I hoped would protect me. It did until it started to pour. Definitely wear a hat, and maybe have something to cover your ears. For most of the race, the rain was hitting me on my left side, and my ear really hurt. Definitely lube up any part that could rub, including your feet. And have dry clothes in the car for after. It took a good 10 minutes of hot air blasting on me before I could feel my hands. You will feel so much better once you've changed. Good luck and have fun!
I'd wear a hat, drifit t-shirt, maybe a wind breaker (but I don't have one I like - they all seem to either keep me too hot or don't keep me dry), and shorts.
Ditto everyone else. Be prepared but don't stress too much about the weather. My first half was in torrential rain and it turned out fine. And just remembet everyone else has to deal with the weather too. Good luck!
I had the same weather when I ran this race a few years ago. Spring in this area is so unpredictable. You are a total badass though, and definitely can still rock it. It is mostly out and back so you should have the wind at your back part of the way. I use lots of Aquaphor, wear a hat, and dress in my normal running clothes. If the race still starts at the high school wait inside as long as possible. Have fun!
It's such a bummer when weather is rotten for a race you've trained hard for. Sounds like you've got good plans for a hat, wind/waterproof layers, and the aquaphor.
Even if it's windy, at least in a race there are lots of others around to help block the wind. I hope things go really well; you've got this!!
