okay guise. i'm back at work, on a laptop with no interruptions! crazy, huh??!! i can eat with two hands, pee when i want to, and post on the board when i feel like it! so i'm expecting this board to wake up, okay? OKAY? esp with all you ktfu ladies.
Hey girl! Glad to see you back. I hope the adjustment is going okay. Is Baby Boy taking a bottle any better? Napping okay without you?
I had a really hard week at work last week. Just really busy and stressful. This week seems more chill which is good and bad. It's nice to not be stressed but no work means no money and I need to keep my revenues up. So, I'll be going lots of marketing related things this week I guess.
so far he'll only take a bottle from MIL. my mom has tried and so has H to no success. MIL says that the first bottle in the morning is still a bit hard..but by the 2nd and 3rd, he gets better. he's still not napping well without me...still needs to be held most of the time...although MIL is able to get him down for about 20-40 mins at a time...so that's better. but i feel really bad..MIL lately has said her back hurts and she's wearing wrist braces (she's been watching the boy in order to train him for 3 weeks now..we just added bjl back when i went back to work a few days ago).
he doesn't eat much..he's only taking 9-10oz while i'm gone for 9 hours...the first day i pumped 37 oz (!!) second day 29 oz, and today, so far 16oz with one more pumping session. it's insane, since bjl won't take any type of milk at all, unless it's from the tap (i think @lauralynne 's little was like this)
glad you get a relaxing week after your stressful one, but maybe you can even out the last two weeks and just get two medium busy weeks what kind of marketing do you do? do you travel to clients?
Yeah this board needs to wake the heck up! I found out I passed my gd test with flying colors so now I want to eat all the cookies! And donuts! But I really don't need to...

I read somewhere that babies should eat, on average, one oz for every hour you are away from them so 9-10 oz sounds great to me! B takes I think 10-12 oz when I'm gone for 11 hours, and he's 8 months. He also eats some solids though.
7costanza! you posting reminded me....you @jennuinne or cdmay...i'm guessing one of you left some toys at my house at the gtg? i posted photos in the thread a while ago, i'll dig it up. you were the only ones with kids that age at my house...
and yes, i've read the 1oz per hour, too...but bjl took 12 when i was gone for 9, and then when we switched to almond milk, she'd take close to 24, so it's a big change.

Wow, gosh I can't even imagine that much pumped milk since at BEST I was getting a total of 6 oz from two pumping sessions per day. I'm sure you will all adjust soon enough. It sounds like your MIL is great with the kids. I know you are hoping she will move in sooner than later, and that seems like it will make things easier. The Chinese culture seems tough to me in many ways but the extended family help with raising babies is a big plus.
For marketing I just spend time writing articles for my website, taking referral sources out to coffee or lunch, answer legal questions on AVVO which is a website where people can post legal questions and have them answered for free by attorneys. That seems to help drive phone calls to my office. I also look back over the last few months of consultations I've done and follow up with them to provide another point of contact and to see if they are ready to move forward. It's just little things that I forget to do when I get busy.
uh, no. i'm not hoping she moves in with us, lol. i'm just bracing myself for it when my IL's get older... i still don't love my mother in law as my MIL, but i do love her as my kids grandma. she really is the best with them, and so is my FIL. and yes. i'd die w/o family around. i have no ideas how you guys do it. the co$t of childcare is ridiculou$.
jennlin I now realize I was getting your parents mixed up with your ILs. I think it was your Mom who you were talking about recently when you were saying you wanted her to move in.
It really is a sacrifice to pay for child care. There are a lot of reasons why I want to hold off on #2 but certainly the cost of two in daycare is on the top of that list. Blb goes to an amazing daycare. It's a big horse farm with fields of gardens and wooded trails. By the time she's 3 years old she will get to have a riding lessons and swimming lesson all for the regular cost of daycare and all on premises. They don't take infants though so I'll have to do two drop offs and pay two bills. Oy! I can't wait for my IN's to move out here from Maryland but that won't be until Fall of 2016 I think.
yes, yes...i really want MY mom to move in, because she's way more tolerable to me! although, i will admit, she is nowhere near as good of a grandma as MIL is. i have to remind my mom to change diapers (i call and ask if she's changed it recently when i'm out), and she doesn't feed meals and will just give snacks...and usually not healthy snacks (salty, msg filled, chinese snacks).
that sounds like an awesome daycare for blb. when do you think you want #2? i remember a while ago you said you'd start trying "in the summer". is that still on the table? 2 drop offs sound horrible. does your h have any sibs other than the sister that already lives here?

It was me. No big deal.
Are they both yours? I can mail them...Sophie isn't cheap!
jennlin, I hope being back to work is going well! G at most drank 11-12 oz of pumped milk while I was at work (9 hour day), but usually closer to 8-9 oz. When they asked me to send more, I always suspected they were starting to waste more since I often came in to a 3/4 full bottle sitting on the counter in the afternoons. Like @lauralynne's LO, she made up for it by nursing all night long.
@jennuinne, I hope things are going a little better for you and your H.
@legalbritt, I definitely feel your pain of having no one here locally. It's still not easy, even with DH doing daycare drop-offs, but not as hard as doing both mornings and evenings. Mainly I struggle with trying to get through the evenings cooking something edible with a clingy child who just wants to be held most nights. We're still leaning towards getting an au pair once our little boy arrives, partly to help with the craziness, but hopefully will still be able to keep G in preschool.
Hi! Just a quick pop in since it's late and I am working on transitioning J out of our bed and into the pack n play in our room. It's definitely not as easy as it was with M.
