this also reminds me of the time I was followed by a small throng of homeless people in Venice Beach, to be rescued by a tattoo artist named Bear who became my BFF that week. We went to Denny's, and he took me to the beach where Baywatch was filmed, and he gave me my first tattoo. He tried to make out with me, but he was about 20 years older than me and had just gotten out of jail, so I was all, "No Bear, we can't!" And Bear was a good sport about it and everything was cool. We did not keep in touch, because he was planning to break parole and move to Mexico. I wonder what ever happened to him. He was a nice dude.

ha! Hilarious. Venice is such an odd quirky little place. I like it in small doses.
dynamoo one of the women that works with a homeless outreach program here.
I really liked staying there for a week. At the time, I was all, "I could totally live here!" But that was the summer I turned 20, and I don't think that anymore.
Very awesome. I think you should plan a trip to come photograph Friendly. You can come to the prison for the greyhound graduation!
Honestly I would LOVE to get in a prison and photograph the whole process. I don't know that it would be safe for me (doriswe?), lol, but it would be incredibly interesting. And I am always down for travel sessions.
Getting into prison takes some work...I don't know how many would let someone bring in a camera (or any electronics for that matter). We've had people in with video cameras, but they were media people.
