I always review the posts about what to buy for baby, can you tell me what I'm missing or if I need different sizes for onesies or clothes? I'm assuming this kid is going to be in onesies and pants for the first 3 months. We don't do much Dec, Jan, & Feb in cold Chicago. I think I'll buy some outfits once we find out the sex.
We're going to register but I have a running total on this list so we know how much we need to pay for everything.

What is a baby care timer?
Also, we never ever used the bottle warmer. I returned it.
Bottles - are you planning to BF or FF? If BF, I'd get 2 oz and 4 oz bottles - that's all we use. FF you'd probably need more bottles overall.
I would look at the Baby K'Tan instead of the Moby Wrap. We have the K'Tan and LOVE it. I think it's easier to use than the Moby as well.
I hated the Boppy. I use it now, but a normal pillow is just as good. I feel like an anomaly on this one, but if I have #2 I might look at the My Brest Friend pillow instead.
I don't know what head support for the stroller is... our car seat came with an infant head support thing, and we just used the seat in the snap n' go... so this might be something extra you don't need.
We never used swaddle blankets. We just used Halo Sleep Sack Swaddles. I think I'm the only person in internet world who didn't think the Aiden and Anais blankets were useful at all. LOL.
Otherwise seems like a good list. You'll figure out what works for you and what doesn't as you go.
Wow, that is comprehensive and a bit overboard. I know sometimes it seems like we need all that "stuff," and some of it is really handy, just don't feel like you HAVE to have every last bit.
My specific comments: -agree w/ PP on the bedding set. Just get a few sheets and maybe a crib skirt. I'd ex the matching hamper, diaper stacker, etc. Just get a hamper w/ a longer shelf life. I don't know anyone in real life that uses a diaper stacker.
-We used a great wide dresser for the changing table & have been super happy w/ that decision.
-Don't get a travel system. If you think you'll use the snap & go, great, get that & a car seat. then later on buy a regular stroller, I recommend MacLarens and the City Mini.
-You probably don't need a cosleeper and a pack n play. Only get the cosleeper if you plan on having the baby in your room for more than a few months, if not just use the pack n play, I think it's a waste otherwise.
-I've heard good things about the rock n play, but we just had a regular swing we loved.
-I agree, get some newborn clothes, DD was 8lbs 11oz and still wore newborn for a bit.
-Just wash bottles in the dishwasher and put them on a towel if they need to dry.
-don't get 4 of the same pacifier. buy one or 2 that are different to see what they like.
-I think wearable blankets, swaddles and swaddling blankets are overkill.
-angel care is overkill and I believe not even recommended. I also think video monitors are overkill, but you definitely don't need both. I'd go w/ the Sony Baby Call monitor.
-What is the evenflo baby carrier? Do you want a soft structured carrier? I'd get an Ergo or Beco. The moby is great.
-head support for a stroller is unnecessary if you are using a car seat and a snap n go.
I am exhausted reading this! Baby Starry is screwed. I predict late night trips to Target and large Amazon Prime orders in the future!
I know! I've been putting stuff on the list for well over a year and my SIL who has 4 kids, told me about a lot of stuff I didn't even think about but she's also giving me a lot of stuff (co-sleeper, pump, pack n play, bumbo)
We repurposed another piece of furniture for a dresser/changing table. Might be worth looking to see if you have something that could work
I wouldn't get a bedding set. Comforters/blankets are discouraged for the first year due to suffocation risk That's what my SIL said about the comforter, she never used it.
We never used a hamper or diaper stacker We'll only have 3 drawers for baby stuff, so I'm not sure where else to put diapers. I think the hamper is overkill also, I'll take it off, they are just so cute!
We never had a glider
Are you looking at 2 strollers? One is the stroller & car seat and the other one is for the car seat to go into, my BMB talks about them all the time for just the car seat
Our stroller came with a head support
We never used a swing, and dried bottles in our regular drying rack
Get some newborn clothes, unless you're expecting a large child. DD was in nb until 13 weeks
Bottles - are you planning to BF or FF? If BF, I'd get 2 oz and 4 oz bottles - that's all we use. FF you'd probably need more bottles overall. hopefully breastfeed but might not be able to if I have to go on a new med. They make a 2oz bottle? I'll add it!
I would look at the Baby K'Tan instead of the Moby Wrap. We have the K'Tan and LOVE it. I think it's easier to use than the Moby as well. Thanks, I'll look into this one

LOL to the timer thing... you can get a smartphone app that does the same thing, or a piece of paper and a pen for free! But your friend must really have liked it.
I think the 2oz bottles are really meant for preemies, but I love them because they are so small. We have Dr. Brown's ones. When we go out, I just take one of those, since 2oz really tides her over if I can't BF. If she wants more, I refill it from a Medela bottle which is what I pump into.
-We used a great wide dresser for the changing table & have been super happy w/ that decision. I really like a 6 drawer dresser at Ikea but we only have 1/2 of a bedroom, actually only 1/3 to put stuff in. I work from home and we keep our bikes in that bedroom. We plan to move but not for a year
-Don't get a travel system. If you think you'll use the snap & go, great, get that & a car seat. then later on buy a regular stroller, I recommend MacLarens and the City Mini. I'd love to get a citi mini, but I just can't pay that ich for a stroller! Never heard of a MacLaren, I'll look at them!
-You probably don't need a cosleeper and a pack n play. Only get the cosleeper if you plan on having the baby in your room for more than a few months, if not just use the pack n play, I think it's a waste otherwise. Baby will be with us for awhile, 3-6 months maybe. The pack n play is for our parents house when we visit
-don't get 4 of the same pacifier. buy one or 2 that are different to see what they like. good idea, thanks!
Crib- need but maybe not right away Dresser/Changing Table- I prefer a dresser with a changing pad on top as it takes up less room and is more functional. Changing pad Changing pad cover Bedding set (comforter, fitted sheet, bed skirt)- comforters are not required we never used them with DS and DD and DD#2 will not have one. Matching Hamper- pointless, buy a cheaper plastic or wicker one Matching Diaper Stacker- I did like ours and if you go the dresser route for a changer then it will be handy. We are doing a dresser/changer and have no diaper stacker for #3 because we are using CD. Matching Blanket-they do not need to match Matching Sheets-wjite ones would work just as well Sheets Baby Animals -? Sheet Savers- I liked these I would get 1 or 2 and also double make the crib so it is easier on you. Mattress- of course Glider - I hated mine Co-Sleeper- Need in my opinion, we are using a RnP sleeper Co-Sleeper Sheets- yes Carseat & Stroller- no travel system but yes you will want a regular stroller for after the infant seat is outgrown. Snap N Go Stroller -preferred over travel system Winter carseat cover -yes Diaper bag-yes, make sure it is wipeable Rain stroller cover-nah Head Support for stroller-nope Extra bases- maybe one but they can be strapped in w/o a base Car Shade- use the canopy, they fall off of the windows anyway Car Mirror - nice to have Pack N Play- not unless you have a huge house and if you get a pnp then buy one with the bassinet and forget the co-sleeper. Pack N Play Sheets Video Monitor- I never used one Rock n Play Swing - yes Evenflo Carrier- as in a wearable carrier? I had bad luck with the cheapies and finally bought an Ergo which is awesome. Moby Wrap Pump - wait to see if you need it Bottle Warmer- only if you will be pumping, wait to decide Boppy nursing pillow-yes but I prefer my brestfriend Boppy Protective cover Hands free bra-cut slits into a sports bra and bam! you save 25.00 Nursing cover-LOVE mine 4oz bottles-yes but buy one of a few different kinds at first, babies can be very particular 9oz bottles -wait BF babies often do not use the larger bottles Bottle drying rack-just use a towel Burp cloth-use gerber cloth diapers Bibs- a few Hats & mittens-hats a few but mittens are huge and a pita, use socks or buy onesies and sleepers with the fold over sleeves. Receiving Blankets- never used Aden + Anais Blankets- just bought my first one, I used swaddleme's but am excited to try these! Swaddle wraps-Loved Wearable Blanket 1 S, 1 M-We only had two bigger ones as we swaddled first. Wearable Sleepbag- Same as wearable blanket....IE Halo sleepsack? Play mat-Never used Angel Care monitor- if it makes you feel better. White noise machine- I used our alarm clock which is a sound spa but yes I think a sound soother is helpful. Bumbo-liked it but rarely used Bumbo Tray-same White longsleeve Onesie (2) 0-3, (2) 3-6 Green/Yellow Longsleeve Onesie (3) 0-3, (3) 3-6 Shortsleeve Onesie (2) 3-6 Longsleeve Gowns (2) 0-3 Longsleeve footed PJ's (1) 0-3, (2) 0-6 Cotton Pants (4) 0-3, (4) 3-6 Hangers Thermometer Tub Aveeno bath time gift set Hooded towel & wash clothes-hooded baby towels are flimsy and not very warm Diapers 3 packs, 36 count newborn. 3 packs 50 count size 1- you will need more diapers Wipes, 792 count Butt Paste Ointment Humidifier Grooming Kit Grocery Cart Cover- used this twice Baby Care Timer- get an app for your phone Pacifiers (4)

If you are moving in a year and the baby isn't due until December, I'd skip the crib completely. Just use that bedroom for storage/clothes/changing table and have the baby sleep in your room. If need be you can set the pack n play up in the other room down the line. Our dresser that we use for a changing table is from Ikea and has worked well.
RE: The stroller, you can find the 2011 City Minis for under $200 on Albee baby, I don't know what your price point is. In your place, if I wanted to save money (and possibly space), I'd skip the travel system and the snap n go. The $180 or so on the city mini can be totally justified then b/c you can use it w/ the car seat or w/o from birth. And you can use it up to a 4 or 5 year old. I think it's worth the money and far superior to any travel system stroller by graco, chicco, etc.
I have never used that particular carrier, but I honestly can't imagine a $15 soft structured carrier would be useful. I think it's a get what you pay for thing.
You don't need a crib, co-sleeper, PNP, and RNP. That's overkill.
Use a changing pad on top of the dresser. We used our changing pad 2x. It's easier to change on the floor, couch, bed, etc.
Don't get a "matching bedding set" because it's a waste of money when you can't use half of it. You'll also get sick of it after awhile.
WTF is a diaper stacker? Sounds like a pain in the ass to have to then re-stack. Don't bother.
How many strollers do you need? I only have 1 and it's fine. I got the Britax carseat and the B-Agile stroller. The carseat snaps into the stroller. It works perfectly.
By the time the baby can use the stroller w/o the carseat he/she will ahve enough head control that you won't need something extra.
Skip the Evenflo Carrier. It doesn't look comfortable or very supportive. Save your money and buy one that is better. I love our Mei Tai and Ergo. Totally worth the money.
Don't bother with a bottle warmer. You want the baby to be able to take a bottle no matter the temperature. If you keep warming it up you'll have a hard time getting the baby to take a bottle when you're out and about.
Skip the mittens. Use socks or onesies that have the fold-over things. Mittens don't stay on.
In my opinion, based on my baby, you have waaaay too many blankets, wraps, swaddles. You don't need that many.
Skip the Angel Care monitor. Baby Bargains doesn't recommend due to giving parents a false sense of security.
Get some NB clothes. We didn't because everyone said to skip. We were scrambling then to get some and he wore them for at least a month. He wasn't a peanut either.
DS lived in sleep and plays or kimono onesies. Don't bother with pants. They are an annoyance when you're changing a diaper every hour or 2 hours.
Skip this: Aveeno bath time gift set Skip: Hooded towel & wash clothes Skip: Grocery Cart Cover Skip: Baby Care Timer. Use a notebook. You'll only use it for a few weeks and then you'll be fine and won't have wnated to waste the $$
Skip: Pacifiers (4). Don't buy 4 of the same. You don't know what your kid will like/take. We have so many different pacifiers and DS never took one. The cats like them more than the kid does.

Crib - obviously Dresser/Changing Table - Dresser- much more versatile Changing pad - yes Changing pad cover - yes Bedding set (comforter, fitted sheet, bed skirt) nice but completely unnecessary - no comforters for baby Matching Hamper - LOLOLOLOLOLOL either use a laundry basket or a cheapie - it's GOING to get poop on it... Matching Diaper Stacker - LOLOLOLOL we never used ours for diapers Matching Blanket - unneccesary - no blankets for babies anyway Matching Sheets - just buy 3 sheets - any color any style - don't worry about matching unless that's REALLY important to you. Sheets Baby Animals - what? Sheet Savers - we have 2 and never used them Mattress - duh Glider - liked ours - YMMV Co-Sleeper - we had one Co-Sleeper Sheets - we only used the one that it came with. We put water proof pads under her head and rear, Carseat & Stroller - don't bother with the travel system - the strollers are so big and bulky. Once your kid is older get a more streamlined stroller that's easy to fold and light weight (we really like the citi mini jogger) Snap N Go Stroller - loved it in combination with our graco infant seat Winter carseat cover - get it! When it was all zipped up and the flap over her head it was soooo nice and toasty in there Diaper bag - get a good one you can live with Rain stroller cover - unnecessary Head Support for stroller - unnecessary - if you put her in the infant seat on the snap n go her head will be supported Extra bases - helpful if you have 2 cars - but then we got ours for free so if you don't want to spend the money, just strap her in. Car Shade - unnecessary Car Mirror - we like ours Pack N Play - we got ours free, it was helpful for the first 2 weeks (CS, and we were moving so it gave me a place for her to nap on the first floor vs going up the stairs to her cosleeper) Pack N Play Sheets - if you get a PnP, get 2 sheets Video Monitor - waste of money IMO Rock n Play Swing - never had one Evenflo Carrier - never had one Moby Wrap - never had one Pump - good to have especially if you plan to go back to work or would just like your DH to take a feeding at 2am... Bottle Warmer - completely unnecessary! DD learned to take her bottles cold (ie room temp) or warm. Even if you're thawing breast milk, put it in a cup of warm water from the tap - it get's plenty warm. Boppy nursing pillow - limited use in our house, by YMMV Boppy Protective cover - our boppy got limited use - but if you're getting a bobby get the cover Hands free bra - meh - optional IMO Nursing cover - optional IMO - receiving blankets worked for us, but DD was never an active nurser... 4oz bottles - our DD liked the playtex drop ins, but other babies have had a hard time with them 9oz bottles - skip for now, you won't need for a while Bottle drying rack - we had one b/c DH got aggravated with bottles all over the counter Burp cloth - just use the gerber cloth diapers Bibs - we bought a 12 pack - you don't REALLY need them until you bottle feed/start table food Hats & mittens - DD was born in Feb and we never used them. She hated having them on. If you feel more comfortable having them but 1 set - don't go overboard. Receiving Blankets - we used them as breast feeding covers and light weight shade clothes Aden + Anais Blankets - get a few (3 or 4) Swaddle wraps - just use the Aiden and Anis ones Wearable Blanket 1 S, 1 M - DD hated hers Wearable Sleepbag - DD hated it b/c she loved being swaddled Play mat - DD loved her's - hours of entertainment Angel Care monitor - not nec. unless you're really really worried White noise machine - helpful, we love ours Bumbo - useless. Don't bother Bumbo Tray - useless. Don't bother White longsleeve Onesie (2) 0-3, (2) 3-6 Green/Yellow Longsleeve Onesie (3) 0-3, (3) 3-6 - you'll need more Shortsleeve Onesie (2) 3-6 - you'll need more of these Longsleeve Gowns (2) 0-3 - DD hated the gowns Longsleeve footed PJ's (1) 0-3, (2) 0-6 - get more of these. Cotton Pants (4) 0-3, (4) 3-6 - It's easier to let them hang out in sleep n play's for the first several months.. Hangers - yeah, a pack or 2 isn't a bad idea especially if you have a girl Thermometer - yes, but get the low tech fast reading butt thermometer. Tub - meh - if you want it, but we just used a baby sling Aveeno bath time gift set - LOL - just buy a bottle of baby wash and MAYBE some lotion Hooded towel & wash clothes - LOL - we just used our towels & wash clothes Diapers 3 packs, 36 count newborn. 3 packs 50 count size 1 - yeah you need these. Wipes, 792 count - need Butt Paste Ointment - have it on hand but don't buy the mega huge one until you know if that variety works for your kid Humidifier - we already had one for our use Grooming Kit - we used the brush and the nail clipper Grocery Cart Cover - never had one - no need. Little bitty kids shouldn't ride in the cart anyway. Bigger kids need the immunity (lol) or just wipe the handle down with a wipe... Baby Care Timer - don't bother with it. If you're only having one a note pad and pencil work just as well. Plus you only REALLY need to record wet/dirty diapers for the first 2 wks to a month. Pacifiers (4) - Our DD never liked them - plus we got one or 2 free from the hospital. Don't bother buying.
I'm do not have children, so take this as you want.
You have way to many things on your list. (my ils have been bugging us for a yr now to have kids and they say that you don't need half of that stuff as you never know what the child will like it what they won't.)
You also never know what you will actually use until you have children.
Wow. That's a lot of stuff. If you get the snap and go, buy it used and don't get another stroller yet - sounds like you don't have room anyway. But I think that a really nice stroller like a City Mini would be a better choice.
That's not enough clothes, but people will probably give you more anyway no matter what you register for. Also look at side-snap t-shirts. They are much easierin the first few weeks since they don't have to go over the head.
No, I wouldn't get an Evenflo carrier. I would get a ringsling or an ergo or becco.
You need 2 changing pad covers or at least waterproof pads to lay on top of it. Because baby WILL pee or poop on it in the middle of a diaper change. Or kick and hit the dirty diaper and smear it everywhere. So you need something while that one is getting washed.
And agree with the others on the matching hamper and diaper stacker. I've never seen a diaper stacker used. A hamper is useful, but just match the color and don't get something cutesy - get something that a 7yo could use.
Don't buy any big blankets or comforters. You'll get enough blankets as random gifts and if you don't then you can go buy one at the end, but babies don't use them.

That's what I was coming back to say! You need more clothes. 0-3mo size AND 3 -6mo size initially. Carters brand worked best for us - reasonably priced, washed up nicely, and ran true to size.
The first couple weeks DD was home with us she pretty much lived in a onesie and the swaddle blanket - but we kept the house WARM. After a while we just let her hang out in her jammies all day. I'd say we needed at least 6 - 7 pairs of each size because I didn't want to wash clothes every single day.
We tried not to get things until we actually realized we wanted or needed them. By not buying a ton in advance, we just didn't buy a lot of things at all. Our house is fairly small, so we didn't want to clutter it full of baby stuff.
Specific things off your list I did not want or use: Changing Table Bedding set (comforter, fitted sheet, bed skirt) Matching Hamper Matching Diaper Stacker Matching Blanket Sheet Savers Co-Sleeper Co-Sleeper Sheets Car Mirror Pack N Play Pack N Play Sheets Video Monitor Rock n Play Swing Evenflo Carrier Bottle Warmer 9oz bottles Bottle drying rack Angel Care monitor Hangers Aveeno bath time gift set Hooded towel & wash clothes Grooming Kit Grocery Cart Cover Baby Care Timer
Thank you everyone! I've removed what everyone said and I'll look for a better carrier and at a city mini on craigslist or the consignment sale I'm going to next month.
I know this is a lot of shit but I have no clue what we need or don't need. This is what you get when you listed to everyone in real life and on you BMB!
Let me preface this by saying that I bought boatloads of babycrap. Seriously. I have 2 nursing pillows (Boppy AND My Brest Friend), 3 carseat bases, etc. I'm clearly NOT opposed to buying something just for the shear convenience and the "what if I want this?" factor.
That said, I see zero point in these things: - baby comforter (I realize this is personal preference) - matching hamper - matching diaper stacker (these things are ugly. Use baskets or the dresser drawers) - sheets baby animals (? what is this?) - cosleeper & sheets (use the PnP unless you just REALLY want this) - I'd get a better soft-structured carrier (Beco or an Ergo) than an Evenflo - bottle warmer (only buy if your DC just has to have) - baby timer
Don't forget: - mattress pads - a Rock N Play and a swing are not the same thing
You wouldn't believe the amount of baby crap I have, so I won't fault you for that. I'm bored, we can afford it, and we got a ton of gifts.
Like someone else said, the bedding sets are rather pointless but I hate anything that's overly matchy matchy. I chose to just use a pretty, but neutral, crib skirt that fit with the overall feel I was going for in the nursery, then I paired it with a variety of crib sheets in a certain color scheme.
Not sure how much you want to spend on a stroller but one option is to choose a stroller where the seat is removeable and you can add an adaptor for the infant carseat. For example, I have the UppaBaby Vista. It comes with the stroller seat AND a bassinet (and a rain cover and a bug cover). It is basically a stroller frame that allows you to switch out the seat, bassinet, and infant carseat frame so that you can make many configurations with it. There are several strollers similar to this. Depending on when you are due, you can hold out for a good price (the UBV is normally $700, I bought last year's model for $450).
ETA: Part of the reason I have so much stuff is that I had a HUGE work shower. I had to go back and add stuff to my registry because it was wiped out. So, if some of your stuff (bath gift set) is for your registry, I'd leave it on there but it's not something that I would necessarily purchase myself when doing my registry completion. If you think you are having a big shower, you may want to put some "older baby" stuff on there (activity table, etc) just because it's really frustrating when someone has a big shower but a small registry.

If you're going to do a baby care timer and have a smartphone, definitely look at apps. We use BabyESP and love it, but I would have just used paper if I hadn't had breastfeeding issues that required me to track for longer than the normal 2-ish weeks. Even with the issues, paper would be fine, but I like the app. I wouldn't want yet another electronic device to keep track of, though.

You've gotten lots of opinions about what is or isn't necessary on your list. Of course you can take lots of those things off and be fine. One person's must haves are another's waste of money. If you're having a big shower, it won't hurt to have extra stuff because you never know what people will buy. I would not register for any clothes, because you will get tons of those. Especially if you have a girl. My must haves off of your list (besides furniture) are:
Angel Care Monitor (if you are anxious, this thing is a lifesaver. I sleep well at night using this monitor. This was the one Baby Bargains recommendation I disagree with. WORTH EVERY PENNY). Snap n Go (I wanted the smallest stroller as long as possible) Ultimate Crib sheet (my kids made lots of messes) Boppy Sleep sacks
No matter what, you will get things you won't use, and may have really benefitted from things you don't get. Don't worry about it too much. As others have said, you can always buy something after the baby is born if you realize you need it.
