The last weekend of this month we're taking our first major road trip with the babies and are going up to Jacksonville for the weekend to be with my parents. My mom wants us and the babies to get this blessing from the rabbi at their synagogue so we'll have to go up in front of everyone and do that-- ahh! Then my mom also wants to have an open house thing so her friends can come meet the babies. Plus I'll get to visit one of my good friends so she can meet them too. So I'm looking forward to that but I'm also nervous about the trip and hope it won't be too hectic. And I have no idea where we'll put all the baby stuff in my parents' house. I also haven't been to their house for 10 months which is the longest I've ever been away from it!
Goals for this month- just keep trucking along being a SAHM! Maybe get better at cooking real dinners for us.
Ooops, I did the wrong type of goals, haha. Long term goals for our family is to get the kids' college funds built up and for us all to be able to travel to fun places. I also want to move to a bigger home but H does not agree.
I'm looking to get this move done with. Not that I want to leave, but that I just want my family settled and together and out of hotel rooms.
Long term I want to save 20% for a down payment on a great house in 1 year. The town home we're applying for is great but I don't want to be in someone else's home forever.
Lauren, it sounds like a very busy weekend in Jacksonville, but I wish we could meet up while you're up here! I'd love to meet you and those adorable babies. Regardless of your schedule, though, I'm going down to St. Pete that weekend. But if you make it up here again in the future and have a free afternoon or something, let's do a Jax get together! In the meantime, good luck with the trip! I'm sure it will be great!
Sara, you've probably said this already, but what's the ETA for getting settled? When will you all be there?
We have a few fun things tentatively planned this month: Orange and Blue game in Gainesville, a couple of fun Easter egg hunts, and my mom and stepsister are throwing a baby shower for me at the end of the month. That should be a crazy weekend because it's the last time I'm planning to go to St. Pete before the baby comes so I know everyone is going to want time with us. I'm tired just thinking about it.
Long term goals are tricky. We're still kind of a mess over here. I guess the biggest goal is for my H to figure out exactly WHAT in education he wants to do long-term, so hopefully we can make that happen and figure out where we're actually going to live forever. Then comes the buying a house stuff and all that. Of course we also want to keep building up our kids' college funds, too, and travel is another good one - we really want that to be a priority for our family. We've done okay with it so far, but hopefully adding another kiddo doesn't change that!
As for expecting, I'm 27 weeks. No cravings anymore. I guess I'm just most excited about seeing the kids interact. I hope Ellie doesn't have too much of a rough adjustment period. I think she'll be a great big sister in the long run, but hopefully we get there sooner than later.
Mrsmew , as long as this app we have in for a townhouse gets approved (ANY minute now I HOPE-eek) I'll fly back to to Tampa tonight, movers will start packing us on Thursday, and my final flight up with both kiddos will be Friday evening!
Sara GL with the move- hope the flight up there is easy!
We have no real plans for the month just taking g it easy before a birthday party happens in may for O's 1st!!!
Long term I would love to get to travel with the kids. I would love to have Triston mainstreamed in school with other kids his age. Is also love to have this house paid off in 15-20yrs
DS is 3 months old today! How did that happen? Also, today I have made it to my 3-month breastfeeding goal. My next goal is to make it to 6 months. There's not much to look forward to this month, besides planning DD2's 3rd birthday. A month away and I have no clue what to do
Our long-term goal for the family is to make a cross-country move, save enough $ to buy a bigger house, fully fund kids' college, travel, and for me to transition to working very part time.

We are doing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the girls' 3rd birthday. Maybe? You can practically buy the whole kit at Party City. I am making red and yellow cupcakes, fruit and veggie tray, and having a handful of games.
