The worst start to a day

On Monday, I was coming home from work and it was raining. I drove around a curve in my neighborhood and almost hit a dog walking along the side of the road. The dog had a collar and was on the smaller side so I circled around, stopped in the road, and tried to get it to come to me. Every time I took a step forward, the dog took 3 steps back. Finally, other cars were coming so I got back in my car and drove around the dog in an exaggerated way so the other cars would avoid the dog too. Another car behind me stopped and tried to get the dog too. I could see the car from my house and I never saw the dog pass my street so I thought they were able to get it.

Today, on the way to work, I saw the dog's body in the middle of the road a few blocks away. :-( I don't know if the dog had been wandering around for the past couple of days or if it was returned and got out again. Regardless, I feel awful.

Oh Aggie I'm sorry! That breaks my heart. But you did try to help him. You can't beat yourself up too much.

I'm so sorry That really sucks. Dealing with animals sick/dying is the worst.
