see if there is a designated ride leader and let them know it's your first ride. Hold your line, chat to people around you and try to relax enough to have some fun!

I fb messaged the girl who posted about it in a bike riders group, and told her it was my first time.

Newb question, but does "hold your line" mean ride in a straight line? Can I just be last lol?

haha! hold your line means if you're on the outside coming through a turn, stay on that same imaginary line, don't all of a sudden swing to the inside. Basically, be predictable when you ride.

Thanks! Unfortunately, the girl just pm'd me and the ride has been cancelled because of possible severe weather. I'll ride my regular route alone instead. The bad weather isn't supposed to arrive until much later tonight.
