This probably isn't a UO but our neighborhoods across the street with two aggressive German shepherds (we have seen them attack two children since we moved in a year ago) are trying to sell their house. I am so relieved, there is a park right next to their house, and I can't wait to go there and not worry about what I will do if they attack Ada.
I think it was bigapple that mentioned (sorry bigapple if I'm wrong), and I think she meant that the posing of the girl in picture looked sexual. I saw what she meant with the makeup, and the strapless dress. It's not something I would. I don't judge anyone who would (rock on!), nor do I think it's reinforcing traditional gender roles.
I really don't believe this is true. They're not instinctually aggressive, they're instinctually loyal, which is why it's easy to train them to be aggressive. Maybe you've heard that they used to be called the "nanny dog" because of their role in looking after the kids of the house?
Used to be, but I doubt anyone gets a pitbull to look after their kids now. Â I don't think that they're illegal in certain states and other countries like the UK without reason. Â
Yes, but that reason is cultural and has nothing to do with their natural instincts. I have no problem with people saying they're nervous around pitties, because it's true that in some places people only get them to fight. I take exception to the idea that they are instinctively aggressive dogs. They're just not.

I hate people thinking they are making a difference for people with breast cancer by posting a no make up selfie or posting a vaguely sexual status about the location of their purse. It is not doing anything to help and it is attention whorish and slacktivism at its best.
Also, people need to stop tagging me in their no makeup selfie. I will not post one and I don't need 100 notifications of people telling you how pretty you are with no makeup.
it was the only place I knew of where I could fly into Florida on Friday morning, chose a dress, have it altered and fly out again on Sunday evening. I know a lot of people look down on David's but their service was great and my mum and I enjoyed our experience.
I bet you serve little caesar's at birthday parties too.
Not picking on you puppylove64! So please don't take it that way.

I haven't seen these and now I'm very curious where people are putting their purses.
I have said this before. If I had 2 strange dogs come up to me and my kids, one yorki and one pitbull, I would be more concerned about the yorki than the pitbull. Yes, the pitbull can do more damage, but the little dog is more likely to bite IMO.
I don't think people should be able to use retractable leashes with their dogs on busy streets or the public bike trails. Technically they are not allowed on the trail, but people still use them. I have been chased, tripped, and been run off the trail more times than I can count and I am just on my feet. I've seen people on bikes actually crash because of dogs on retractable leashes running amok.
I have a wedding dress confession. When I was shopping for a dress I didn't care if I found The Dress, I was just looking for good enough. I knew I'd be changing into traditional Nigerian attire 1.5 - 2 hours into the reception so I didn't see the point.
Even more flammable, I bought it at David's bridal.
I got mine at David's bridal . Also, I have a three dress rule. For anything, I only try on three dresses. Otherwise I'd go nuts forever searching and searching. So I pick three I really love, and choose between the three. Wedding dress included lol.
I love your three dress rule! I normally hate shopping because I always end up trying everything on and then I get frustrated and walk away with nothing. That is brilliant!

The purse one was a while ago. You say "I like it" followed by the location of your purse. "I like it on the kitchen table."
I'm know I'm biased because my dog is part pit, (and she has been nothing but sweet with my kid), but I hate how pit bulls get a bad rap. It's all about training, not the breed.

We just have a different opinion there (obviously, lol). But I do want to point out that I don't think it's the fault of the dog if/that they are instinctually aggressive.
I'm on my phone now so I can't make a long reply. pitbulls are no more naturally aggressive than any other dog. the media has villified the breed rather than place the blame on training. My annatolian shepherd has more protective and guarding instincts than a pitbull and yet anatolians are not viewed with the same anger, fear and distrust that pitbulls are.
Do you mean when people put dots in the middle of a name? That practice makes me want to google my first name with the dot in various places.
Nope. I understand that. I'm talking about like not saying your kid's name or whoever it was that was using MN here instead of the first name.
That's me. This is kind of funny to me. Is your name IRL Rainbowchip? Why isn't your user name your real name?
I try to stay somewhat anonymous on here. I've met one probie in 5 years of being on here. Not because I don't like a ton of probies, but I'm a little more private and don't know if I want to mix the 2 worlds. Its not like I will call them Henry and Jack in front of Probies if we ever meet at a GTG.
I may have less confidence in lurkers not being weirdos. I've shared my city and a bunch of other personal stuff. I'm sure someone could google enough and find me. I'd rather not make that easier for them as my kids have somewhat unique names. H would not be happy and I respect that.

haha, the good thing about having a bunch of feminist activists filling up your freind's list is this NEVER happens to me!

This is true as I have a instinctually yappy yorkie, lol. I live on the side of caution. No approaching dogs (of any breed) unless if the owner okays it. I wish a lot more people live by this rule.

Yes, it was me. It didn't strike me as cute or sweet at all. Just a little, overly-made-up girl smiling up from a pile of fabric that was falling off of her.
I hate makeup on little girls. They have the rest of their lives to conform to beauty ideals; why not let them just be kids? They're pretty enough naturally. (not talking about play makeup here; talking about head shots and posed pics)
Our neighbor can't sell their house so they're renting it out again. Last time they did this, we're pretty sure that the previous renter's criminal son bulglarized our house. This morning when we looked out the window, we saw a big pitbull sitting on the window sill looking out. GREAT! Looooove pitbulls when we have a 5lb yorkie and a toddler.
That pitbull could be the absolute sweetest dog on the planet. Please give him a chance before you make judgments about his temperament or his owners. I'm not saying you should be careless about having the dog or kiddo around him, just don't assume that he is a bad dog.
As an LVT, I have worked with "pibbles" most of my life, and a whole lot of other dogs. I think that I would be less fearful of one that was raised with that one owner than a rescue. My sister has 2 and is always fostering another and J will never been over to their house, and probably won't until he is way older. And the other day a lab was wanting to play with him and I was still nervous because I know what toddlers are like and Joshua doesn't do gentle well. But I admit, I am breedist. There are certain breeds that are ingrained to attack. It doesn't make them a bad dog.

I agree with this.
On a related note, I think it's irresponsible when people let their dogs off leash in an area where leashes are required. I'm sure they think their dog is well trained, but I can recall many times during a run with my dog that we have been approached by an off leash dog. It pisses me off. Not sure if this is unpopular though

1) i am drinking a dunkin donuts cookie dough iced coffee. I dont know how i feel about it. Its good, but then its not. I dont know how i feel. I have to think about it.
2) David's Bridal is considered "off the rack!" *gasp* People at my wedding thought it was Vera Wang. I didn't correct them. It was David's bridal. Whatever, i looked good! If my dress happened to me a few thousand dollars, and i loved it i would buy it. I just happened to like the way i look in my dress from David's bridal the best.
3)I didn't see the with the little girl in the dress. I need to go find it.
4)I got attacked my "the friendliest breed of dog ever." I was two, and it was a golden retriever. The dog was old. I have a scar all the way down my face even know. You can still see it, but its not totally noticeable. The plastic surgeon was really good. I was so scared of dogs for the longest time. But i now love them again. So yeah, i don't think one breed of dog is known to attack more then others.

Well considering I have taken pictures of her dressing up in daddy's uniform and I buy her boy clothes and trucks, I don't think I'm pushing her into a traditional gender role, but thanks.

Oh i have more!
My dress is in a box. I love it so much! I dont know what i am going to do with it. Something.
I also love "Trash the dress pics." Some of them come out amazing. I love when brides are in the ocean with theirs. I should have done that. I guess i still could!

ftr, it's not something i give a second thought to. i only commented because it came up.
BUT, it did bug me that my sister was saving the pic for my niece "on her wedding day". i mean, give it to her now! it's just playing dress up!

The odds of your daughter ever wanting to wear your wedding dress is slim to none. That's why I cut mine up and made her christening gown out of it.
Oh my goodness, I love this idea!!!! Now I need to find a seamstress who can make a dress for Annabelle out of mine. Can you post of pic of the christening gown?
In response to the David's bridal stuff, my dress wasn't from there it was technically a boutique, but I got my dress off the rack for $200 and I loved it!

Sometimes you can't win, man. Let her wear pretty stuff and tell her she's beautiful, you are damaging her. Let her get dirty and have boy stuff and everything, you're pushing an agenda. It's fucked.
