The odds of your daughter ever wanting to wear your wedding dress is slim to none. That's why I cut mine up and made her christening gown out of it.
Oh my goodness, I love this idea!!!! Now I need to find a seamstress who can make a dress for Annabelle out of mine. Can you post of pic of the christening gown?
In response to the David's bridal stuff, my dress wasn't from there it was technically a boutique, but I got my dress off the rack for $200 and I loved it!
It's the only pic I have on my phone so it's not the best of pics.
Sometimes you can't win, man. Let her wear pretty stuff and tell her she's beautiful, you are damaging her. Let her get dirty and have boy stuff and everything, you're pushing an agenda. It's fucked.
Is this directed at me? Because if it is I'll respond. If not, I won't

I'm more scared of small dogs than big because I've been bitten by several small ones.
I dislike David's Bridal because I had disastrous experiences with them both times I had to get a bridesmaid dress there. They sent me the wrong dress the first time, which I didn't know until I showed up for the wedding. The bride had picked DB specifically because her bridesmaids were spread across the country, and they promised it would be easy for us to individually go in to get measured for the dresses she'd ordered. Another bridesmaid got the wrong dress too. They said they could only correct THEIR mistake if we paid something like $200 per dress for restocking and overnight delivery fees.
I got my dress for DB price at RK Bridal in NY. I freaking love that place. My dress was 100% silk and was featured on the cover of a bridal mag a few months later, so I was really happy with the price. Even after alterations and all, it was still under $500 total.

Me too! It was $300 on sale, and 3 of us at David's bought the same one, and I still felt like a million bucks (as seen on my fb page, since my pic is still me in my dress!)
1) i am drinking a dunkin donuts cookie dough iced coffee. I dont know how i feel about it. Its good, but then its not. I dont know how i feel. I have to think about it.
I had one yesterday. It was delicious. Really sweet, but delicious.

Nope. I understand that. I'm talking about like not saying your kid's name or whoever it was that was using MN here instead of the first name.
That's me. This is kind of funny to me. Is your name IRL Rainbowchip? Why isn't your user name your real name?
I try to stay somewhat anonymous on here. I've met one probie in 5 years of being on here. Not because I don't like a ton of probies, but I'm a little more private and don't know if I want to mix the 2 worlds. Its not like I will call them Henry and Jack in front of Probies if we ever meet at a GTG.
I may have less confidence in lurkers not being weirdos. I've shared my city and a bunch of other personal stuff. I'm sure someone could google enough and find me. I'd rather not make that easier for them as my kids have somewhat unique names. H would not be happy and I respect that.
I never knew those weren't your kids' names. Mind blown.
I was much more protective of my private info on the bump. I even made a different screenname from my wedding one, so people couldn't recognize me from that. There were some crazies and some serious drama on our wedding board that extended to FB/cyberharrassing, so I was skittish.
The purse one was a while ago. You say "I like it" followed by the location of your purse. "I like it on the kitchen table."
I'm annoyed by the amount of money spent on 'cancer awareness' in general. If you live in this country and you are not aware of cancer, then you are a dumbass.
Yes! People need to stop thinking they are being helpful by raising awareness for cancer. If you want to help, great! But actually do something helpful.
Still on the subject of dogs... I think dog park is a nice concept, but it's a terrible idea in practice.
Why? I think they're a great idea, and I frequent them whenever I'm dogsitting. In areas where you don't have a private yard, it's great to have a space to run and play safely.
I hate people thinking they are making a difference for people with breast cancer by posting a no make up selfie or posting a vaguely sexual status about the location of their purse. It is not doing anything to help and it is attention whorish and slacktivism at its best.
Also, people need to stop tagging me in their no makeup selfie. I will not post one and I don't need 100 notifications of people telling you how pretty you are with no makeup.
My aunt posted one about being pregnant (and she is not), I thought it was weird and didn't get the connection with that and breast cancer awareness.

We had a pit ( Staffordshire terrier), Siouxsie. We had to put her at peace on January 2 due to cancer.
I understand people being afraid of pits and related bigger breeds. Their bite is much more damaging than a Yorkie. Dogs are animals and while they make great pets you have to be wary whether you know the dog or not.

Yeah, i have had bad experiences with them too regarding customer service. The store flooded when the bridesmaid gowns where there and they were shipped to different areas across the country. Disaster. Not that flooding was their fault, but hello anxiety attack!
My dog sucks. He's not friendly with other dogs so my opinion is biased. I also have a general distrust of other people and their judgement of their dogs being dog-park material. Too risky.

That's fair. I don't know if this is normal, but the parks around me are divided into small breed and large breed enclosures. A friend only takes her dog to off-leash hours in Central Park because she believes the dog park dogs are all the ones who couldn't be trusted off-leash and not fenced.

Actually, I am in the process of legally changing my name to Rainbowchip. I love it that much! Kidding. I can understand not wanting people IRL to find you here but I guess I don't understand how saying your kid's name here makes it easier to google you. And what exactly is terrifying about someone googling you. Unless you piss someonr off really bad or something. IDK, I just think that if someone wants to take the time to stalk me or something, more power to them. Wink wink musiclover
Do you mean when people put dots in the middle of a name? That practice makes me want to google my first name with the dot in various places.
Nope. I understand that. I'm talking about like not saying your kid's name or whoever it was that was using MN here instead of the first name.
I don't get why you think it's weird to start with. I don't use my own name or my DD's name on the internet (with the exception of FB which is locked down and where I cull my friend list regularly). Not everyone is willing to be an open book and some people may have histories of being stalked or attacked. Others may work in sensitive positions (military, government, semi-public figures) where they want to reduce the risk of having excessive information attributed to them, or about them. They can eliminate that risk entirely by staying off boards like this but there's been plenty of discussion before about how motherhood can be lonely if you don't have a circle of fellow moms to communicate with and gut-check you.
I don't trust any dog I don't know really well. I hate when people think their dog is all perfect and don't put it on a leash when outside, even in their yard or for 15 feet. I am more cautious of large dogs because their bite can kill, where a yorkies will just hurt.
My dog sucks. He's not friendly with other dogs so my opinion is biased. I also have a general distrust of other people and theirjudgement of their dogs being dog-park material. Too risky.
I am pro-dog park but I couldn't agree with you more on the bolded.

a thing that annoys me is when people either want to interact with my dog or let their dogs interact with my dogs and i tell them it's not a good idea because they are biters and they say "it's OK, i'm a dog person".
