I didn't realize this was a thing. DH got a bamboo shirt from a company called Tasc Performance. It is extremely soft and their website says bamboo is better than polyester for workout clothes. Your thoughts? I do see they are quite expensive though.

I have some tasc shirts and a running skirt (all from raw threads - disney race stuff). They are very comfortable and soft, but I mostly like to wear them for yoga or weights, not for running, unless its winter. They don't wick so very well, and they're on the heavy side, which isn't ideal in the summer here in the South.
There is a lot of bamboo workout gear sold here. It is really cute stuff, but the stuff I have seen would definitely be better for yoga than for running.

I have some bamboo socks, I hate them and pretty much only wear them if they're the only thing clean left in my drawer. They always feel...I don't know, damp? I don't really know how to explain it. They are soft, but it's a weird texture to me. Also I feel like they stink a lot faster than my other socks. They're not workout socks, though, they're just casual socks.

This is my experience. I love my bamboo shirts for casual wearing, but not for exercising.
I don't have any bamboo workout clothes but I have other bamboo products that I really like (sheets, socks) so I'd be interested in all types of clothes made from bamboo.
as far as price, the clothes on the tasc site are significantly cheaper than anything I've seen from lululemon and more sustainable too.
Bamboo clothing is made out of bamboo rayon, so it's still synthetic. It's not really sustainable either, based upon the amount of chemicals it takes to make it, and other farming practices that are destroying the ecosystems where it's made. So in short, it's all hype.
