If the pain is in the bone, compression socks won't help that. They really just increase blood flow to the area, which is helpful for muscle recovery. I don't anticipate would help you unfortunately.
What has your doctor said about running? I wish there was a quicker fix, but I don't know of one. I don't mean to say this flippantly, but have you considered cycling? The lower impact could be better for your leg, and I have enjoyed it a lot since picking it up a couple years ago.
I'm not a doctor, however I do know that sometimes people have residual pain from the plates and screws and some MDs will take the hardware out. This is fairly common around the ankle so depending on where your fractures were maybe this is a possibility. I'd seek out a second opinion. I'm a PT, so I have seen this before and I'm not just spouting off random info
