We found out yesterday that ds got into our first choice daycare center ;D (he was on the waiting list since before he was born). He will start mid August when I go back to teaching. I am working on getting a list of things together that he will need.
Any suggestions?
-labels for clothes, items -bag to carry bm bottles - general bag to carry things back and forth -inch bug bottle labels -diapers, wipes, spare clothes
Any tips on making the transition would be great too!

Extra clothes (I just bought cheap rompers). We don't label clothes.
And while I like the inch bug bottle labels they ended up being kind of pointless for us since we have to include the date on the bottle. Daycare provides us with a specific colored masking tape. Since I am already putting the date on there I might as well put his name.

Provide anything they need to sleep. When mine started at 4 months, we sent them with their swaddles and their sleep sheep, which really helped them nap better in the beginning.
Extra clothes, crib sheet, blanket, diapers, wipes, any diaper cream you use, sunscreen, a hat, paci, and labels for bottles & clothes (licensing in some states require everything to be labeled).
My LO was on formula and even though I prepared bottles each morning, I also kept some extra dry formula in her cubby.

I just posted a code for Name Bubbles, we got the daycare value pack & it's been great. (mix of clothing & dishwasher safe labels) 4 months of use & they all still look brand new!
Daycare is only 5 minutes from our house so we don't use special bag to transport BM bottles.
We use a tote bag to carry everything. Bottles, extra clothes, art projects etc. (yes they were doing art project from the very beginning, lol)
Most likely your DC will have a supply list. Our daycare had us bring in a small clear box (shoe box size) for his cubby. We usually keep a set of clothes in the box, along with a few supplies. (comb, brush, nasal aspirator, etc) I like sending 2-3 sets of clothes, that way if one set comes home it's not big deal if I forget to resend another outfit the next day.
At our DC diapers & wipes are brought in on a monthly basis. We usually take one package of each & then just check the inventory periodically, restocking when necessary.
I agree with visits before LO starts, it will make you feel more at ease.
We don't label clothes either, but DD is the only baby younger than 1 year old so it's not necessary.
We have a small carry on bag (size of a big purse, really) that we use for daycare. We just put her wet bag and CDs in there every other day, and then fill up clothes/bibs when she needs more. The bag has a small zipper pocket in the front for bottles.
For wipes we buy a big box and then when she needs more we bring another.
I will recommend name bubbles labels for the bottles. They are great. We've been using them for 3-4 months and they are still like new.
I have labels from here:http://www.etsy.com/shop/mytwobabes Which I bought 4 years ago and are still going strong on sippy cups.
I only label jackets, sheets and blankets, and lunch stuff. Spare clothes go in a ziploc bag and the bag is labelled. The smaller the baby, the more changes of clothes you need.
You might want to send a lovey or something from home for nap time.

You may want to see if he can start a week early, or maybe on Wednesday the week before your first full week, so that you can cry in the comfort of your own home (if applicable) and also be able to pop in to deal with any adjustments or crises if necessary.

Your daycare will give you a list.
We also don't label clothes (in fact, DS2 is in DS1's old clothes, which are all labeled with DS1's name from when he went to a daycare that was really strict about it). I just had to tell DS2's teachers "if you see the name Eli, it really means Spencer".

We don't label clothes either (no babies in his size and only 3 babies there total), we supply diapers, formula and keep a diaper bag there full of clothes. We drop the bag off on Monday and take it home with us on Friday.
