I think I had them a couple times in mid-2nd tri. I'm still not 100% sure that's what they were, though. I did call my ob's nurse line and they said as long as they didn't pick up in frequency or intensity they were probably BH. But to call them back if I was concerned or the pattern started to change. They also suggested taking it easy and upping my water intake.
I asked my dr at my last visit about them and she said they're not painful per se, but more uncomfortable. Almost like a charley horse in your belly. The hard belly description always confused me because my belly always feels pretty firm.
I agree about calling your ob since they are recurring/regular for more than a few times. It does sound like BH since they don't hurt though. Have you tried doing anything to stop them like drinking a ton of water or taking a warm bath? It may be that in the morning you're dehydrated (not drinking all night) and then in the evening you're worn out/over exerted. Keep us posted!
How frequently did you have Braxton Hicks? I know it's normal to have them, but I can't figure out if the frequency of them is concerning.
I'm 25 weeks and almost every night/morning I get them in waves. I feel dumb because I don't know if they are really braxton hicks, but my whole abdomen has a weird warmth sensation, followed by my uterus going rock hard for several seconds. It repeats 1-3 minutes later... for a few hours. I don't know what else this would be. There's no pain, but since I'm so early I just didn't know if they are happening too often.
Sounds like BH, but it does sound more frequent than normal. I'd let your OB know and they may monitor you to make sure they aren't causing cervical changes (this is what my OB said yesterday when I mentioned my BH). Have you tried sitting/putting your feet up and chugging a bunch of water to see if they calm down?
