and yes the uber crunchies seem to hate on cows milk all the time, I don't get it. It's like a point of pride to many that they have not started cows milk since they are still BFing or if they give milk it's unpasteurized goats milk or almond milk or something like that.
Cows milk is the devil unless you can get it raw from an unmarked van that prowls the neighbourhood. I hate the milk haters. They're so full of crap. And I say this as someone that never drinks a glass of milk and doesn't really push it on DS.
I hope you find a recipient that is actually in need and not too nutty.
I'm a milk hater and actually get really, really annoyed by society's insistence that kids have to drink cow's milk. That said, I was (and still am) perfectly happy with other sources of calcium such as yogurt, cheese and leafy greens, so I can't relate to making a platform out of it or going to any kind of extreme.
Anyway, that whole situation you described sounds very weird. Boundaries. This grandma needs to learn them.
@hannymaren, DH, DD and I are all lactose-intolerant and I just think society makes way too big of a deal over how much cow's milk kids are supposed to have. At DD's school, for example, she gets a speech if she drinks plain water with lunch instead of the milk that the school provides.
I keep soy milk and goat's milk at home, but mostly to use in recipes or with cereal. Neither is something I force my child to drink several glasses of per day.
I've seen weird people on hm4hb here too. I hate the posts saying they don't have time to pump or just don't want to. Also amazes me that people ask for donated milk for their 3 and 4 year olds... I'm all for full term nursing but if you chose not to do that I find it odd to ask for donated milk that could be going to a young baby who really needs it.

Wtf to the grandma, but also wtf to the mom?? Not leaving her child with anything because she doesn't feel like it? Not even formula? That's awful! ...says the girl who pumped for 3 months for such measley amounts it was ridiculous

Yup, this is one of those situations where it sounds like all parties involved kind of suck.
And, yes, a big side eye to people with toddlers who are seeking donated milk, absent some sort of health concern. I have nursed all my babies well into toddlerhood, but If I couldn't or didn't want to, I would make sure they were getting sufficient calories and calcium from food and non-human milk (or if necessary, toddler formula or pediasure), then move on. I certainly wouldn't go taking donated breastmilk.
