So I ran a local 5k today and had a PR. 30:22, I clocked it a bit short (3.02m) on my garmin but I'll take it!
I have to thank everyone on this board. I started "running" about 5 months ago and "ran" my first 5k back then and clocked in just shy of 41 mins. I walked most of it and was pretty discouraged. I put my nose to the grindstone by doing a training program and have significantly improved my times. I'm hoping to hit that magical sub-30 later this year and never in my wildest dreams thought I could do this. Thanks for all the encouragement on this board!
Way to go!! That is such a huge leap in your PR. Most of the 5K's I've run are small, not certified, and not exact on distance either. I've quit worrying about it and if I ever manage to break my current PR, I'll do as you do and say "I'll take it!"

I should note that my previous PR was 34:08 about 2 months ago. And my sister's boyfriend clocked the race at 3.08m so I'm feeling better about it. Taking today off and off to starting tomorrow training for a 10k.
