I ran Cherry Blossom as well and was aiming for 1:40-1:45 (based on my training). I finished in 1:39, including a bathroom break. I'm stoked!
Here are a couple pictures: Baby's bib says MVB Most Valuable Baby on Board Est. Finish: 08:21:14. And a two sign for running for two.
The lovely Running for Two tank that a friend handed down to me, my wee bump, and my Cherry Blossom medal. If you wanted a medal, you had to pay extra for it, which I did since this was a special race. I actually like that because it kept the entry fee reasonable and you could add on what you wanted (a medal or a tech shirt).
Congrats!
I was just saying the same thing to H re entry fee. It's nice that you can pick and choose your perks but the race itself is only $40. Though cinco's $10 cherry pie race sounds like a steal. Granted I would not be winning anything and thus would just be scamming pie off cinco.
Had a kickass 9 mile run today followed up by a great yoga class and practicing my yoga lesson plans!!! Today was a great workout day. Tomorrow I demo at my yoga studio and praying she hires me!!!!! I love great workout weekends!
I showed up at my race yesterday ( the one I thought was today!) and had a small panic attack when looking at the big hill that the course started on through the woods! I have never run on a trail before. It was a lot of fun even with dodging mud, rocks, sticks, dogs and whatever else was on the course.
I ended up at 38:05 for a 5k. Not the best time ever, but I am happy with it. For being my first trail run and not knowing what to expect, plus being totally thrown off because it was a day earlier than I thought... I think I did pretty good!
My friend ended up at 50:38. I am so proud of her! She was so nervous and she went nice and slow while taking her time. She kicked butt.

I ran a miserable 5 miles. I have been sick for 2 weeks and not been able to run. While miserable, I am hoping it will help for my 10k race next weekend. The AW part of this is that I did the entire 5 miles. I so wanted to bail every minute but I finished and that is big for me. DH bought me a FitBit for my birthday. It is charging right now and I am excited to experience it.

Mine isn't big compared to most of you, but it was important for me...I was able to do a full yoga practice for the first time since mid-December, when I injured my shoulder. It kicked my butt and I still can't hold chaturanga for more than five seconds (and hell no to pushups!), but it felt really good!
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I ended up having a great time at the 10 miler today that I forgot I'd signed up for. I met up with peeps from the running group I recently joined. We were all planning to run it as just a long training run, but I was separated from them at just before mile 1 by a cargo train. Ugh! I'm too risk averse to run in front of a train, so I was stuck for 2.5-3 minutes. I hauled ass to catch up to them, and it felt so good that I kept going. I did most of the race at 8:15-8:30, and felt great.

Well, I was still not able to train this weekend, BUT, I have a random that might be slightly AWish!
One of my buddies said he wanted to check my bike out. I've had a few frustrating rides lately, just feel like I can't move, thought it was my brakes rubbing (and sometimes it is), but that's not always the problem.
So, he completely cleaned my bike and tuned it up this afternoon. He found that my front brake caliper was rubbing my tire (my tire is 700x25 and apparently 700x23 is what should be run now because there is barely any clearance). So, he had to loosen it all the way (quick release is even up), and there are still only a couple of millimeters of space.
So why is this AWish?! Well, I've ridden hundreds+ of miles like this in the last couple of months. When I jumped on it today it was like night and day. Honest to goodness, I was dragging so badly and because my brakes (pads) looked ok, I thought it must just be me. WEEEEEEEEEEE!
So proud for everyone!! What a rockin' weekend. Awesome PR's all around!
@ Runblondie26- Glad you are feeling some better. Of course you will pull it off!
@vtcupcake - congrats on the honor & the $$!
dragonfly08 - that's great! It's hard to get back to anything after a hiatus, so I say you've got victory to celebrate!
brit - now I'm crazy curious what your H managed... Maybe a PM if you want to share?? I'm mostly teasing. Just happy you had a good surprise. It's got to be hard when he travels so much.

That is so awesome/lucky you got it found & fixed. Hope you feel better soon kams. At least you know a happy, healthy bike is waiting for your return.
