I am 5 weeks into a half marathon training plan and am sick (again). I had a sinus infection in Feb, then a bad cold and now another sinus infection/allergies. I'm on another round of antibiotics and scheduled to see my ENT doctor Thursday as I had sinus surgery a few years ago and a history of infections, etc.
I ran 7 miles Saturday and had scheduled rest on Sunday. I did nothing yesterday as I was home sick. I'm still feeling crappy today - conjestion has moved into my chest.
Will I really hurt myself if I take another day off? I'm supposed to run 3 today but the idea of it is really hard for me right now.

Yep. I was in almost exactly the same situation, except 3-4 weeks before my half. I had been struggling with colds/sinus stuff since October. Take some time to recover.
Don't be afraid to take several days off - the whole week even - until you're feeling mostly better. You've still got two months and you will be ok. Some slow, easy running sometimes helps me clear out a stuffy head, so be honest with yourself about how you're feeling & when to get back out there. Feel better!
You can't control when you get sick. You can control how you rest and recover.
I've been sick more this year than in the last few years combined - right in the middle of marathon training and now ironman training. You're not alone and you'll be ok as long as you rest it and don't prolong it. Get well soon!
