Is looking progressively worse. It now covers his entire body, including head and face, the pin dots are getting larger so that his back and buttocks are pretty much just completely red and it's starting to feel raised in places. We're headed to the dr this afternoon. J is not in a great mood and refusing to drink much. Good thoughts are appreciated.
Unless you are seeing the doctor in say, an hour, I think I would go to urgent care. A full body rash that has spread to the head and face and has become raised shouldn't be taken lightly.
Definitely head in. When making the appointment I'd give them a full description. DS broke out in a rash all over his chest and back and they had me call from the parking lot when I arrived and took us directly back to a room because of concern it was something contagious like chicken pox. It ended up being folliculitis. He had a full body pin dot one too that was determined to be an allergic reaction to a antibiotic held taken multiple times before.
The spreading is what would concern me the most. Hope he feels better soon!
Edit: didn't read you were heading in already. Good luck!

We just got home. Febrile viral rash. Pedi thinks that it will look worse before it gets better, but that it should resolve on its own. She said that even though he's a little grumpier than usual, he's still in pretty good spirits and to keep pushing fluids.
I'm so glad it's not anything more serious, but good grief, it looks horrible! My poor little man.

Crazy, my pedi was just talking to me about these the other day. I don't think I ever knew there were so many weird skin things out there until I had DS.

Thanks everyone. I gave him some tylenol to help with the fever/fussiness before bath and it kicked in riiiight after I laid him down for the night. Went back in and he took another 3oz of milk and then passed out. Hopefully he gets some good sleep and tomorrow is a better day.
