My knees hurt and I want to make it stop. I was in physical therapy a few years ago for overtraining. I've stopped running since then and was focusing on lower impact exercises. It hasn't helped. I'm to the point where my knees always click when I walk up or down stairs, especially my right knee which is the one that landed me in PT. I can feel my left knee aching right now because I was just kneeling.
I'm getting discouraged. Do any of you use any joint supplements that work? Should I be going to a doctor and begging for shots of something? Sorry this post is disjointed. I'm exhausted but the thought of needing two new knees at 29 is keeping me awake.
I'd go to the doctor, specifically an orthopedist that specializes in sports med. You might want to have a MRI to see what is going on in there. My right knee hurt very badly last year. It turns out I had patellar tendonsis and a torn meniscus. I wound up w/2 surgeries to fix it (and nearly a week in the hospital & ICU, but I won't go there). Before the surgery, my right knee was so bad that I could barely walk. I had no choice but to have the surgery.
IF there's not an actual injury and it's more like arthritis/ chronic pain- Yin yoga, at a reputable studio with a good instructor after you've told him/her all of your joint issues (so they can keep you safe)
It sounds like hocus pocus but it's TOTALLY worth a try!
