Yay for Wednesday! What is everyone up to today? Anything fun and exciting?
QOTD: Since we're talking about cooking/baking, what is your favorite dish to cook that usually impresses people and they think it was difficult, but you think is easy? :-)
I really need to be getting work done - my book comes out next month and I should be pitching articles and rallying an online book tour. But morning sickness is really killing my motivation.
QOTD: swordfish in brown butter sauce with pine nuts. Rarely find or buy swordfish anymore but it's great with salmon too. Oh, and chocolate molten lava cakes are so freak'n easy and impressive.

Good afternoon!
The painter is painting our kitchen today, so I'm kind of stuck indoors. I would leave, but I'm afraid one of the cats will run out since she has been trying since we moved in.
QOTD: I make a really good shrimp risotto and also an a la vodka sauce. I also do a good vanilla cheesecake and chocolate cheesecake. I think those are the things I get the most requests for.

Good evening!
Today after I skunked DH at Jeopardy, we went for a drive for his work and had lunch and did a bit of grocery shopping while we were there. Then I came home while he went to help someone install a printer, and then stopped by his parents' house. Dinner was a do-it-yourself affair, since he was going to be late and I have gotten to when I need to eat before 8.
QOTD: Pull-apart bread or pretzels (either sweet or savory); my grandmother's baked spaghetti; red beans & rice (which is nearly unheard of here in Australia); or carbonnade a la Flamande.
Good afternoon! I'm still only halfway dressed. I'm getting really restless with the staying home and doing not much. I know I should get out more but I don't seem to have much motivation for that either. I think I'm going to go for a long walk after lunch and maybe take my book to read in the park.
QOTD: For the non-French people, they usually really like my quiche or confit de canard. Everyone seems to also like my tacos or these pecan toffee thingies that I got from a Southern Living cookbook

Morning! Almost the weekend here, thank goodness! It always feel like the week is so long :-P
I'm at work for the day, then teaching Zumba tonight! Also going out to the jazz club with friends after Zumba. Should be a fun evening!
QOTD: Hmm, well I bake the simplest blondies ever that people always rave about! I've made lots of things that people loved that were super easy. I cooked for DH's family reunion once - made enchilada casserole and corn and black bean tacos for 50 people. They raved about how good it was, but it was easy :-P I also made pork chops with a whiskey tomato sauce, and chicken stuffed with haggis, wrapped in bacon. Both were super easy and my guests loved them!
I think it just comes down to people not being comfortable in the kitchen/liking to cook perhaps? I grew up in the kitchen watching my mom, so it's always been a happy place for me! I like to try new recipes and challenge myself :-)
I woke up so tired. My sinuses are in bad shape, I have had meetings every night for the last week and a half, and have not been sleeping great. Luckily I started to feel better after a short run. I am not sure whether I will be truly productive today. Since I am working at home I think I'll give myself a lazy day. Tonight I am going to a cooking class/event with the kid I tutor. He loves to cook so it'll be fun.
QOTD: To Dutch ppl Mexican and Japanese. Overall Indian dishes.
I'm on my look/see trip right now, in Korea, and I think we finally found the right property for us! Now we just need to pray the landlord will agree to hold it for us for 3m.
QOTD: I'm not sure anything I cook impresses people. Lol.

I've had an exciting day so far. I went to the American food store and out to lunch with a friend. I have never been more excited to see Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Miracle Whip. Shush, I've hit some comfort food craving thing lately.
QOTD: I'm with origami. I'm not sure anything I make is impressive. Maybe the ice cream I used to make. A couple of our friends LOVED it, but it was just the ice cream maker, not really me.
