Eh, I don't think you're missing anything with the newer episodes.

Last night they did the all-Lego episode and it was really dull. And last week's episode, with Bart practicing voodoo, was just tough to get through because it was so bad ... and that episode now holds the record for the lowest ratings ever: www.avclub.com/article/last-nights-simpsons-episode-set-all-time-ratings--203924

We have a DVR recording set up for the times when they show reruns on FOX and My9 (this may be a local NYC station? It was the old UPN channel). We tend to just watch the reruns from seasons 1-10 or so. We delete most of the newer episodes without even bothering to watch them.

I watch FOX on Sunday nights to see the new episodes of Bob's Burgers, and sometimes American Dad as well. I still watch The Simpsons most weeks but I don't look forward to it anymore. And last night was the first time I've watched Family Guy in a really long time.
