Good morning/afternoon/evening all!
What are you up to today?
QOTD: Continuing on with food, what's the strangest/most exotic food you've ever eaten? What was it like and did you like it? How adventurous are you with trying new foods and where do you draw the line in things you will try?

Today I'm waiting around for our appliances to be delivered and then I'm doing errands after they arrive. Nothing exciting...
QOTD: I guess the most exotic thing I've eaten have been a variety of game meats. I've tried kangaroo, zebra, springbok, ostrich, kudu, oryx, and elan on a visit to Namibia a year and a half ago. I liked them and would probably eat the again, but after 2 weeks of eating nothing but that, it was a bit blah. I draw the line at eating bugs of any kind, any sort of blood sausage, and insides like lungs or tongue, etc.

Good evening! It was an average Thursday for me. Had a nice long chat with my Mom and things are looking a bit better than they have since last week, though nothing is settled or sorted out. After our chat, I beat her in a couple of games on our phones and then I watched some downloaded tv and cleaned house a bit. When my brother got home from his meeting, he called and I talked to him too, which was good because I needed to get some information from him. Dinner was mock chicken fajitas and Spanish Rice.
QOTD: I'm not too exotic in my eating, though I have had Alligator, Squirrel and Caribou; alligator is not bad, but nothing I need to go out of my way for; squirrel is nothing I ever have to have again; and I'm not sure about caribou as when I had it, it was already made into smoked sausage and that was cooked on a wood-fired barbecue grill with mesquite, so I am not sure how much of the flavour was caribou and how much was everything else.
I'm not really adventurous, but in the right setting, I'm willing to try just about anything. I'd prefer to be introduced to different cuisines through familiar ones. Yep, I'm one of those people who wants to try foreign cuisines at Americanized restaurants first, then if I like that I'm more willing to go authentic. Though I am not sure there is anything that will ever get me to eat tripe again!

Afternoon! It's International day on campus, so we just had the food festival - lots of people cooked and made yummy food. It was fun! Tonight, they'll have a talent show of sorts showcasing regional dances/songs/etc. It's a good event for the students! It's an experience that wouldn't happen just anywhere!
After work, I plan to head home and chill on the couch! No plans at all :-)
QOTD: I'd like to say I'm pretty adventurous. I've had haggis in Scotland, and it was so good! It's a mind over matter thing for me on that, I don't even think about what it actually is. I have tried an octopus carpaccio (here at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant) that was really good! Otherwise, I'm not sure I've tried anything crazy exotic. They have camel here, but I've never tried it!
I think I'd have to draw the line at bugs, that's just not anything I can ever see myself eating! Anything else, I'd like to try and be open minded about trying it once, just to see!

Morning! I had fun this morning playing with LO. She is much more fun than before. We are going to the park this afternoon and then maybe out for pizza for dinner.
QOTD: nope, I am a bit of a picky eater in some aspects so I wouldnt try anything out of the norm. Perhaps, octupus but even that isnt strange
Long day at work today and it's been HOT this week. Slept with the fan going all night and roasting in the library today. Will take this over cold rain any day though!
QOTD: We eat octopus a lot as well as a lot of game (I use ostrich in place of beef quite a bit). The grossest thing I've eaten is when I cook tripe for DH. He loves the stuff. It's disgusting. I had to go to the Chinese market to find it in Canada. Some groups eat it here, but I don't want to drive out to those areas to buy it. I found it once in the grocery store near us.
QOTD: I guess I'm fairly adventurous. I have no issues with fish, eggs or (the right kind of) meat being raw/under, I like haggis and black pudding/boudin noir, which is pretty much just blood (no oats).
I eat liver and sweetbreads and though I haven't had it for years, brain and tongue are yummy. I don't like kidneys and other insides though.
I've tried kangaroo, buffalo and alligator (meh).
I guess aside from spiders or cockroaches, I'll try anything once. Including nicer sounding insects, like crickets.

Hi there, I am doing well today. I'm going to a class after work. The weather here is beautiful.
QOTD: I'm pretty adventurous within certain limits. I'd say that I avoid eating bugs. I could not bring myself to try a grasshopper taco. I struggle to eat things that actually look like what they are. Like, I don't want to see face. In terms of cuisines, I'll try pretty much any, just maybe not everything on the menu. I've had some authentic tripe dish in a can (like their version of Chef Boyardee) in Croatia once. I only did that because it was someone's favorite local food. Once was enough. I also tried papalines in Croatia, but again the little faces on the fish freaked me out and I couldn't order it a second time. If I'm with a local who absolutely wants me to try something like that then I will, but I tend to avoid it. I'm ok with eating veal, sushi, sausages, etc, I just don't like seeing the faces.
If it's not something like that and I'm not allergic to it, I'm game to try many things.
