I had serious issues with anxiety starting last November. I'm on a low dose of Zoloft and feel like a new person. I have none of the usual side effects. I just feel like me again.
I am so sorry your are going through this. I battle anxiety on and off all the time. I was on lexipro years ago and that really helped. I have been off all meds for almost 8 years, but there are certainly days that I wish I was on them!

I was on an anxiety medication years ago for panic attacks. I can't remember what it was, I didn't take it every day just when I had an attack but it was very helpful. Honestly in my case I think even just HAVING it and knowing that I could take it helped to reduce the number of attacks I was having.
Sorry to hear this. I just want to encourage you to go in & see someone. I know it can be initially challenging to find the type & right dose of meds, but from others close to me I know they really can make a big difference. Good luck dear!
Edit: It's possible meds aren't the answer for you, but going to see someone about therapy, other lifestyle habit changes, etc will be worth it. Hope you can find the right solution.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that. I have anxiety. I took lexapro with success. I actually took it for depression, because I didn't realize I also had anxiety issues... I thought I was just losing my mind... lol. But the meds helped with both issues. I noticed a definite increase in my anxiety when I stopped taking lexapro. (I can manage it relatively well now as long as I get regular exercise and get outdoors most days, which is why I'm not taking it anymore.) So long story short, the meds helped.
Even if you can't run, have you tried going outside for a 30-minute walk every day? Seeing the sun and getting outside helps me.
ETA: Yoga also helps me a little bit (but only on days when I actually do yoga).
I'm sorry you are dealing with this. I, too, deal with anxiety. I am not currently taking any medication, but have re-started seeing a therapist and it has helped me tremendously. I have been on Zoloft in the past, and it was helpful. I encourage you to reach out and see someone. It can be so daunting to make the appointment, but so refreshing to get some help.
I deal with anxiety off and on. I started Wellbutrin about 6 months ago, because I just couldn't get it under control without meds like I have in the past. I hated having to "rely" on it to help reduce anxiety, but it was a good idea. I feel much better on it.
ETA: I see a therapist occasionally too. It has helped too, both with and without meds.
I tried making an appointment with my doctor this week but no availability until next week. Thanks for the support:) not sure why my anxiety is increasing and just want to get a handle on it.
