We are fostering kittens and they badly needed their paws trimmed, so DH was trimming their paws and he accidentally cut in to the quick a little bit. The bleeding has stopped, but is there something else I should do for it? Will it heal? Should I bandage it?
Aww, that sucks! I'm not aware of anything else you should/could do at this point; I've heard it's like when you cut your fingernails too short. It's kind of tender for a while but then it grows back and is fine.
I can't tell you how many times I've hit the quick in my boys. They seem to squirm just as I'm closing down on the nail. -_-*

Otter, if you've got any corn starch you can put that on the nail to keep it from bleeding. But there's not much else you can do for it. It might be sensitive for a while and your kitty might lick at it.

My husband cut too deep recently. We had some of that powder to stop the bleeding and he just put that on a couple times. When he called the emergency vet he was told just to watch it. Only bring him in if it won't stop bleeding. Called reg vet in morni ng and they said it would heal on own. Just watch for bleeding.
