I am a special ed teacher, currently teaching Multiply disabled K-3 (self contained) I absolutely LOVE my job and am so passionate about it I am glad to see this board bc i always have questions and/or am looking for ideas, as well as have many good ones to share with parents, caregivers and other teachers
I will def be posting some questions and polls here which will really help me in the classroom and benefit my students.
I also grew up with a brother that was autistic. he was non verbal and unfortunately when we were growing up not much was offered for him. I feel if he grew up in "these" days he would have been able to been verbal
My brother passed away a few years ago and I miss him dearly, this is my connection to remembering him and all he taught me!! Especially patience!!

I teach fifth grade inclusive special education. I am also looking forward to asking the occasional question or adding a teach perspective. My husband and I are beginning to look into adoption and are considering a special needs adoption through foster/adopt, so I will be here often soaking it all in!
