If I recall correctly, I think she just said she was still going to LA rather than stay in NY. I thought maybe they would be split up by now too. I'm sure it's coming though.
I wasn't quite sure where Peggy was coming from in this episode. I get that the new boss is stodgy but she was making herself look foolish. Drop it and move on, lesson learned about how to present stuff to this guy. Falling to the ground in tears seemed a bit extreme.
I was surprised about Don at the end too. Freddie's line about damaged goods must have really woken him up. I'm hoping he'll manage to still end up on top like old Don would, but something tells me that may not happen this time.
California Pete cracked me up. Why is Ken such a bastard now? Because Pete's gone and he's handling all of the accounts himself? And I can't remember - did he lose his eye permanently?
I was pleasantly surprised when the economics professor wanted info from Joan instead of what she thought he would want. Of course he then insulted her by assuming she didn't know the answer to his next question, but it was nice to see her get at least a little professional respect.

It was also Ted showing up from California. And I think her BIL leaving at the end to go back to his wife who he doesn't want to leave alone while she's left to deal w/ asshole tenants while she triple locks her doors.
Both professionally AND personally she's floundering.

Yes- I agree with this. I think it also related to the fact that one of the last images of the last season was Peggy sitting in Don's office by herself in a similar position to Don in the opening credits. Peggy thought she would be on top by now, especially with Don AND Ted gone. Instead, they brought in another guy and she essentially has to work her way up again. Personal life is the same- lost Abe, lost Ted. Now she is back where she started.
Also, Don sitting outside in the cold is interesting. He left the door open when his visitor came, indicating that he does this often. I know he had a bottle in his hand, but decided to sit in the cold himself. Was it a bottle of alcohol? Was he ever seen drinking in this episode? Is he using it as a punishment when he is attempted to return to his old ways? Merely a symbol of him being left in the cold and alone? I'm looking forward to exploring these questions more.

Oh yes, good point. She's worked her way up only to see what she thought would be her job go to yet another man. Hmm. So curious to see what comes of this!
