Has anyone had faint lines a few days in a row, that failed to get darker with each passing day? (Especially early on?)
3 days in a row I have had faint lines. They appear within minutes, are colored lines, but are very faint. I KNOW it's still super early for me. I'm ONLY 9DPO, and testing early, but OMG the fact that they appear but aren't getting darker is killing me. Period is due Sun/Mon.
I know "a line is a line", but I also know if I shove a super faint line in my husband's face he's going to be all "what line?" or "it doesn't match the control line". I will then have to pull out the instructions and show him it doesn't have to match, and that will take the excitement out of telling him. I'm not doing that.
If you were an excessive Wondfo tester, please tell me how long it took for your lines to darken. Especially if you got lines before your missed period.
I tested with a FRER this morning and if I saw anything in the test window, it was in my mind. I don't know if immediate evap-like lines are visible with FRERs, but I could swear I could make out where the line should be, after I peed on it. The lines are so narrow on those tests, though, that it's tricky.
I should probably hold off again until Sunday.
I like how Wondfos are wider, so there's more visible color.
That site is cool. Flip back and forth and you'll see how the % changes from "faint" to "strong". Looks like by 11 or 12 DPO you'll probably have more definitive results.
HPTs are not quantitative measures of how pregnant you are. They give you a yes/no, that's it. The darkness of the line can sometimes just be a function of how much dye is in that particular test, and it can vary from test to test.

I drove myself nuts with comparing the darkness of lines. On Sunday, my bfp was visible but faint. On Wednesday, I had to squint and tilt to see the line. I drove myself nuts with it. Not the advice you are going to want, but I'd wait a little bit and test on Sunday or Monday. Good luck, I hope it really is positive!
What day did you believe what you were seeing?
Also - was it the following Wed (after Sun) that you had to swuint?
I believed the first one Sunday came first, with clear positive, Wednesday came after with barely there positive. I thought I was having another chemical, but I think I have lived the tale of the pregnancy test dye! Haha!
My first was stronger as well, which is probably why I'm still testing a bunch.
I think you already know this from previous cycles, but when it's a negative there is really NOTHING THERE. Nothing you can trick yourself into thinking you see a line. The darkness thing is really secondary to that
FWIW, the Wondfo lines for me were still pretty light when I tested at 11DPO. My first beta was only 50 at either 12/13DPO. FRER was clear as day by then though.
I'm not on any meds right now, just prenatals since we started TTC. I don't think early pregnancy would be when I become high risk. The only thing I do know, is that I don't have to see my perinatologist until after my first appointment with my ob.
Based on this thread, I expect some darker lines or a positive digital this weekend/Monday, so I guess I will hold off until then.

Here's my short story:
I *thought* I saw a line on the Wondo with afternoon urine (10dpo), though it was suuuuper faint. Called OB the next day, they did bloodwork. She called me back 12dpo and thought I was having a m/c because my hcg was so low. Um, nope, I'm just a ridiculous early tester. Heh.
The digital didn't turn positive until 14dpo and based on my hcg levels, that was about right. So, when I told my H that I was approximately 30 seconds pregnant that first day, I was spot on.

I'm sure no one wants me to post a picture of my pee tests here, so I'll just tell you that my lines were faint at 9dpo and 10dpo (got a negative digital at 10dpo right after I got my betas drawn), then at 11dpo started getting more definite. By 13dpo there was no denying there was a nice strong line. My hcg at 10dpo was only 23. I took way too many tests and spent way too long googling pictures of other people's tests online.
You are still so early it is expected they'll be faint! Congrats!

Just want to say congrats! I called my doc a few days after getting a positive hpt, but they won't do 1st appt until 9-10 weeks, so don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit. How exciting for you!
Congrats! I got my BFP on cycle 5 as well. My line didn't get any darker for the first few days either. I knew that Wondfo's weren't quantitative, but its still hard to wait. I called my doctor the day I got my BFP, but they had told me to at my annual physical (I mentioned that we were thinking about TTC-ing). They brought be in a day or two later to do the OB intro appt and did betas then.
Just so you don't freak out, you probably will feel like your period is starting for the next few weeks. That really messed with my head -- especially with Wondfo's that weren't darkening.

Wrong, lol. I want to see. I will private message you.

Mine were very faint for a couple days. They were there though. I took a pic with my iphone and emailed it to my best friend. She could see it so I knew I wasnt going crazy. I also got a FRER and the line was alot better. I got my first line on 8DPO but didnt believe it because I left the test too long. At 9DPO they were faint but there. At about 17DPO my very preganant friend peed on a stick to show me that her lines never got darker than the control. I will PM you a link to my stick.

I agree with this! Do not use the darkness of the line to judge how pregnant you are.
Congrats!!
Since it is so early I would wait until Monday to call.
