There is an opening at the university that I previously worked at (in a different department so I wouldn't have my same crazy boss) that I am extremely interested in.
I'm working on my cover letter and have some questions. Since I've worked there before, would it give me an edge to focus on the fact that I'm already very familiar with the deparments that I'd be reporting to/working with? If so, how do I go about putting that in writing?
I haven't applied to a job in a very long time so I feel a bit rusty.
Have you kept in touch with anyone from your old job? Maybe ask them to see if you can get any tips on how to word it? Usually, a resume from an insider gets pushed to the top a lot quicker than just submitting via email or online.
I'll get back to you on wording. I have to leave the house soon and won't be back until later though.
