Anyone have any fun Easter plans? We're just doing a small Easter Egg hunt, church, and cooking a dinner with a menu TBD. Crossing my fingers for nice weather so that I can get a few runs in.
Other randoms:
* I literally had a foot of hair cut off yesterday. I would post a before and after pic, but the ML thread makes me scared. * It has taken me an hour to type up a work e-mail. I have no motivation this morning. * I hate canine teeth. Mama needs sleep! * I think it would be fun to do a H&F #TBT thread
*I'm baking a retro Easter Bunny cake - complete with jelly beans *I'm a little terrified about posting things or things i have posted b/c of the ML thread *I'm really regretting not submitting my name for MCM lottery seems like most people who did it, got in.

The Easter bunny cake sounds fun! I should break out the ridiculous lamb cake mold that my husband bought from Goodwill a few years back (don't ask). Alas, I think I'm sticking with strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert on Sunday.

No Easter plans here, except we are going to my mom's house for dinner.
I really wanted to take today off work (I am off tomorrow bc DS's school is closed). H was crabby to me when I mentioned it because his job is more demanding than mine and he can rarely take time off. I take off random days on a regular basis. So, he made me feel guilty and I am at work today.
I ran on Tuesday and I brought my gym bag today, and am planning to run today. I think I may be back at it. I put together a SmartCoach plan for my October half. I have a pretty lofty goal, so I am going to have to start working toward it now.

No major plans. My family in Pittsburgh celebrates Easter with a traditional Slovak meal, which I LOVE. But my H is Jewish and doesn't celebrate, so he prefers to work all weekend. I was considering driving up myself, but since we leave for vacation Wednesday, it seems like a lot of travel for me. I think I am going to follow my traditional Easter of the last few years- powerwashing the deck, lol.
I'll probably get dressed up and take myself to brunch on Sunday morning though, since so many places have yummy menus.
ETA: I forgot my exciting random- I am going to try to make pierogies for the first time tomorrow.
No plans to go up to my family's for Easter since they are sick! So, now I might throw together a little impromptu feast for H and I. Emphasis on might... I am lazy.
Mr. GT is visiting his family and I am staying home. My plan is to go to church on Easter and then head over to her house. I plan to pressure wash the deck while he is gone. You'd think I'd be more efficient if I had some help, but I get more work done without distractions.

I'm singing at our church's Easter service, then we are doing Easter baskets with DS. We will go to IL's for lunch. My parents are going to church with us.
I ruthlessly cleaned up my FB friend list because of the ML post.
Random: I have been trying to breath diagrammatically and that means pushing my belly in and out. I know the benefits of doing it, especially while exercising, but it makes me feel fat. That was more of a confession. I am so vain.

As far was Easter goes, we'll be having Easter dinner on Saturday night with some of DH's family that lives in Boston.
I haven't decided if the Easter Bunny will leave gifts this weekend, or if he'll make a second visit when we get home. I know my mom is already planning to dye eggs and take DD to an egg hunt.
lb2006 I'll need to see a photo of the finished cake. It sounds really cute!

Thanks - i also have cake pans for lambs, a large three-dimensional egg, and mini eggs We'll see how Saturday shakes out in baking-land!
We don't really celebrate Easter but we are going to spend the weekend boozing, at a local brewery on Saturday and at brunch on Sunday.
I don't know if any of you are in the CEP makeup thread but it's amazing and now I am going to Target for another 3-drawer organizer because SOMEHOW my collection no longer fits in the one I have. Luckily DH is just laughing at me.
I have no idea what ML thread you guys are talking about. That whole board scares me silly.
SIL was going to do Easter, now she's not. So I guess we will do something. I really want to go to church, but don't want to be that guy who only goes on Easter and Christmas.
What should I make? I don't really even like ham. :/
*After I read the first 2 posts here, my first thought was "what the hell is going on over in ML and how does that apply to here?" Well, now I have reading material for the rest of the day. Maybe 2 days.
*I bought clipless pedals yesterday. I almost fell when stopped, caught myself, and then promptly fell in the other direction while celebrating not falling the first time. I sat on the ground and laughed for a good 2-3 minutes before trying to get up (which was a fail because it was a small uphill and the cleats on my shoes made it more difficult).
*I have an ASL assignment due tonight that involves signing in front of the class. I'm not even done writing my sentences yet. I should probably do that soon.
*I'm running my 2nd 10K ever on Saturday. I keep forgetting that I have a race this weekend, and it's combined with a trip to my bff's house (race is in her town), which we've had planned for months, yet I keep forgetting.
*Sunday, I'll ride my bike again. I'm not sure if it'll be before or after church, because the weather is uncertain right now.
We don't really celebrate Easter either but my Dad wants to get together so I made bruch reservations on Sunday.
*DH and his practice are having Happy Hour tonight because one of the assistants is moving. I think I'm going to skip it - I never have enough to say to people that DH works with and it makes me feel super awkward.
*I'm excited to have tomorrow off work - a whole day mostly to myself:)

We're hosting Easter this year. Long story, but Mr. LHH and I got swindled into it. He's been out of town working this week, so I've been trying to get the house ready. (Aside -- we moved in late January. I feel this "getting the house ready" thing I've been doing may be in vain based on ALL THE BOXES.) We'll do chicken breasts ... Mom is bringing mimosas and broccoli casserole, my aunt is bringing her sweet potatoes ... that's all I've got. I should really menu plan more on it. Oops.
*I have been ridiculously consumed by the ML thread. It's so crazy and intriguing and rabbit hole-like. I can't stay out of it.
*Mr. LHH gets back in tonight late. I'm glad I have tomorrow off so I can sleep in a bit before a short run in the morning and my hair appointment.
*My big work event is down in attendance this year and I'm all bent out of shape about it. I think it's a combination of things, but I really wanted to hit 200 people again. Sigh.

We don't do ham on Easter, FWIW. My aunt is a self-proclaimed vegetarian (who eats chicken, turkey and fish, so ... yeah) and I don't like ham, so we're not serving it. I also don't feel like babysitting a turkey for four hours like I do on Thanksgiving, so I'm going to cook chicken of some form. Another alternative would be lamb, assuming everyone eats it at your place.
ETA: I forgot my exciting random- I am going to try to make pierogies for the first time tomorrow.
I have been seeing a lot of these on my FB feed lately. Can I ask what filling you're going to do? I haven't made them before but I'm intrigued and it's my understanding they can have a sweet or savory filling, correct?
Yes, I have seen all different fillings- in fact, there is a place in Pittsburgh that makes s'mores pierogies, which is pretty much a mash-up of my 2 favorite things in the universe. But traditionally, potato and cheese, sauerkraut, cottage cheese and prune are the most common fillings. I am going to make my grandma's recipe which is longhorn cheese, mashed potatoes and salt/pepper.
My mom uses my grandma's recipe and they are fantastic, so if mine come out half as good, I'll be excited.
My mother has long claimed Easter as her holiday, and refers to herself as the Bunny Goddess (damn, was my niece upset when she realized there is no such thing), so we're doing to my parents' house. I feel lucky that my ILs are across the country, so we don't have to choose where to go.
Just excited for my 2.5 year old to hunt for Easter eggs! He had a great time at his school hunt.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
My bp has started creeping up, so my OB said no more running until after the baby comes. Of course, she tells me this as my new shoes are set to arrive tomorrow.
H moves home this weekend! He has been working out of state since October and was transferred to a project here. I am SO EXCITED!!!!!

WOW!!!! Relax this weekend and enjoy him being home
I hope to make it to church. I haven't been since the wreck so I feel like the person who only goes on Easter and Christmas.
DH doesn't want to go home so I need to plan an Easter dinner now. Carrot cake and ham are all I know for now. Any great ham recipes? I am awful about this stuff.
I need to go home and see grandpa. He had a really bad spell and with the wreck I haven't made it down since Christmas. I don't even know if I can handle the drive yet. Geez.

I've been so distracted preparing for a big test that I have tomorrow at work, I've failed to really plan for Easter. I did sign my boys up for an Easter Egg hunt at our complex on Saturday though. On Sunday, we'll likely go to church and then to an Easter-themed kid birthday party in the afternoon.

So I'm going to have to go check out this ML thread. I think I'll have plenty of reading material to go with my beers tonight while DH is in class.
We are going to see DH's grandparents on Sunday for an hour before we are heading to my uncle's for lunch. I have a bridal shower on Saturday too with the other side of my family. I love family time but this is too much and I'm stressing about when I can get my runs in.

I refuse to enter this thread because I already have a makeup problem!!!

I also don't plan on doing ham. Frankly, I don't care for it and the only one that will eat the leftover is my H. I'm trying to figure something else out. So far, I think I'm going to do a risotto, glazed carrots, and strawberry rhubarb pie. But I still need to figure out the meat!
