What do you think about the new house? There were a few things I was questioning in the beginning (ANOTHER plank wall), but it always seems to turn out nicely at the end. I can't believe they have all of the time/money to do everything at once!
I'm still not sold on that huge bench in the kitchen. I think using that area for island seating would have looked nicer. That bench just seems so freakin BIG for that space and combined with the other bench in the kitchen....just seems too much.

I've really enjoyed watching what she's done to this new house. He last one was a little blah, but this one is impressing me. It's clean and simple and classic. I really like it. I must have missed the bench, though. I'll have to go look at that.
I unsubscribed after she did the millionth post about her sunroom makeover and print shop ads. I didn't even know they moved. I'll have to try it out again.
I think she has interesting ideas, but the quality of the work is lacking, and there seems to a lack of attention to detail. I find myself scratching my head over some of the things that really jump out at me, but she doesn't seem to notice.
The broom closet was a great idea, but the execution left the pantry wall looking cheap and totally diy-ed.
I am loving her blog right now--I think a lot of the choices she's made are gorgeous. I really like the planked office and the bar.
I agree about the bench in front of the island--it just seems a little close to the cooktop for me. I would be worried about splattering and someone sitting there or at least cleaning the cushions :\
She is so talented though! I am so impressed with her ability to improvise and tackle a project.

I forgot about the broom closet! It made the pantry wall look totally off balance.
I love her blog and also follow in IG, where she posts pics as she goes instead of waiting for a whole blog post. I am extremely tired of plank walls and wonder how long it will take her to get tired of them before she tears them out and tries something new... maybe an accent wall of wallpaper!
Definitely impressed by her work ethic, but she doesn't need to plank and add floating shelves to ALL THE WALLS. Some of it comes off a little cheap. Not a fan of a huge long bench because it would be a PITA to get in and out of. Does the "beach house" vibe still work if you don't live near the beach anymore?

I think I'm missing the plank wall that you're discussing. Is it this one in the studio?
I think so far her new house is pretty nice, but those floors look pretty cheap and are NMS. I didn't follow her before, so maybe she is just repeating the same renovations that they did in other houses, but it looks like she does well in keeping the same style from room to room.
I like her studio and the living room. I can't wait to see her finish it out and get more color in there.
I just hate the dining area in the kitchen. Who wants to sit on a bench seat directly in front of the burners on the stove? And she upholstered the bench, no removable covers that she can wash when stuff on the stove splatters all over. Yuck.
Planked surfaces (just in scanning the last few posts): kitchen ceiling

I like most of what she has done. I think it looks nice. I agree about the benches - they are a bit much. And I agree that it's a bit beachy for a mountain house. But I am enjoying seeing the progress. I feel like they have been able to do a ton in a short amount of time.
I generally really like her stuff. The thing that stood out most to me was the huge wall of subway tile. Don't get me wrong, I love a great classic subway tile (it's my backsplash), but that's a looooooot of it on that wall.

I have been following her. I think she is very crafty, and has lots of good ideas. I don't like that her houses all seem kinda monotoned. She needs to add some more color! I don't like all the planked walls, or the big benches in the dining room.
I am enjoying seeing the changes. They are doing so much work. The main things I don't care for are the floors & bench seating in the only? dining area...otherwise it's pretty cool.
I think that bench in the kitchen makes zero sense. I wouldn't want to sit so close to the cook top with my back to the kitchen. Plus the other bench under the window? It makes no sense.

I love the window bench. The other I could do without. I think it's the back cushion that's causing it to go into no territory for me. Like it needs something else to make it look less homemade. Tufting? Piping so that it looks like an actual cushion?
I haven't seen the broom closet. Of course, I have a rack with my brooms on it in my basement stairwell, so I am probably still jealous.
I do agree about the broom closet, I would have finished it different and hid the hinges behind the door.
The hinges were what really made me crazy. I could not figure out how she even thought of doing it that way, when nothing else there had external hinges to begin with, and then to have installed them the way that she did just bugged the heck out of me.
I subjected DH to a rant about what she could have done differently and Why? Why would anyone do that? She can't possibly think it looks right, can she? He was just as puzzled, so he didn't really mind the rant. lol
