I read Love and Logic after I heard a lot of good things and I really didn't like it. It's been a while since I read it so I don't remember the specifics I just remember thinking that it was over the top on some topics.
I'm reading the Super Nanny book now. It's fine but I don't think I'm getting a ton out of it that isn't common sense. It also says no time out until two and a half. Really???

Oh, also the series "Your One Year Old", "Your Two Year Old", etc, is good. Not specific advice, just developmental info that makes you think "oh, I'm not crazy and my child is not the spawn of satan, this is normal for a _x_ year old".
We loved Your Baby's First Year Week by Week. DH called it the Oracle
I like Your Toddler Month by Month for ages 1-4. It's edited by a cognitive psychologist/neuroscientists, so there's a lot of "this is your toddler's brain" which explains 90% of what DD does. And it helps me be a more patient parent.

I liked the AAP's Caring for Your Baby and Young Child (birth to five years). I referred to it a lot regarding medical issues, developmental milestones, etc.
