My Facebook is filled with huge PRs! I cannot wait for the reports!!
Apparently, I am FB friends with exactly NO ONE running Boston. Huh.
There's a running group here with a huge chunk of really speedy people. They regularly drop anywhere from sub 3:20-sub 3:00, without batting an eye. I feel slow. lol

This was my friends' off year as well. I'll live vicariously through everyone else's friends though
Yeah I actually don't think I have a single IRL friend who is very into running. I'm pretty sure they all get really annoyed when I post too much about it on FB - when I was in the throes of training for Houston this past fall a couple of people made some vague references to it.

Juli Windsor - the girl from the RW article that I posted yesterday - finished in 4:43. She is the first little person (if that isn't the correct term, someone please enlighten me). She is 3'9" tall, I think. Amazing.
John Young - the guy from the article - dropped out around the 20K mark. It wasn't his day.

Awww, man. I loved that article. So sorry to hear about John, but yay for Juli!!
I'm not going to lie. This course scares me a bit. jordylee, If you happen to visit your mom at any point during training, we can do our long run together, and start looping over the downtown bridges, during the final 1/3 of the run. lol
Agh! I had a phone interview literally right after they did Jeptoo's anthem so I'm way behind. But did anyone else notice that Meb kissed the ground three times after he won? Or am I crazy and it wasn't three? Cuz I thought it could be a really sweet tribute to last year, but then I thought I could be making that up in my head...
Congrats runblondie26 ! You are amazing!! I'm in awe!
I am so excited Meb won! When DH told me, I cried for the hundredth time of the day. Other things that got me were passing a couple of the victims from last year, and seeing Team Hoyt. The crowds were out of this world. I can't do it justice, and my dehydrated body can't take any more tears. The city of Boston has outdone itself.
I didn't have a great performance. I had some weird cramping issues in my calves, and I think my electrolytes were off. I was on target for the first half (1:42) but knew it wasn't going to be my day by the 15k with the cramping, feeling abnormally warm, and heavy crowds the entire way. I had a blast the second half anyway though! I finished just under 3:50 (so yeah huge positive split). I'll post a full recap in a few days, but didn't want to leave you hanging
Awww, man. I'm so sorry it didn't go as planned, cinco, but I'm so happy to hear that you still had such a great experience. So proud of all of your girls out there today! Looks like it was an awesome day to be in Boston. I can't wait to hear all about it. Enjoy the rest of your trip!!
cinco I'm so glad to hear from you!!!! Congratulations! I'm sorry it wasn't the perfect day as far as running, but it sounds like a stellar day overall. We all are so impressed and proud!
