It reminds me of the interview she just gave, where she was talking about embracing the pain, and how she knows that if she's hurting, they are really struggling as well. She has a plan, no doubt.

A pro triathlete (I think maybe Chris McCormick?) said something like this that has always stuck with me. He says he thinks of pain like an old friend. Sort of like, "I knew you would be here, let's do this thing!"

Ha!  I just flat out told my CWs not to expect anything out of me until at least the women's elite are done.

Shalane has been very forthcoming with the fact that she has trained over & over, on most of this course. I would be following her tangents!

No kidding! She could do this course in her sleep. I love that she said she never crosses the finish line in her training. Saving it for race day.

Interesting how they just showed the whole pack to the left, and shalane on her own to the right. They were wondering why, then everyone ended up joining her on the right because she was running the tangent. She is so freaking focused.
