So no pacemakers for the elites, that means no garmins or anything right? Do they have clocks posted along the way so thy know their splits at some point? Or do they literally have no idea until they cross the finish line?
Can non-elites run with watches or music?
pacemakers are sometimes called rabbits - they're people that run a certain amount of distance at a certain time, they help to pace the leaders. They're allowed watches and HRMs and all that stuff, they just don't have people out there physically pacing them - make sense?

I think I'm going to do a quick run tonight even though its a rest day for me as well.
It's crazy how fast these people run. I am running a 10k this weekend and am hoping to be under 1:10 and Shalane just ran more than twice that in that time.
She can't do it. She just can't. I don't think she can hold that pace.
She just ran the THIRD fastest 10 miles in American history. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MARATHON.
Have they mentioned how far back the 2nd pack is? I'm skeptical as well (because, holy shit!), but the good news is, everyone else in that lead pack, will be just as tired as she will be. I'm excited to see how that lead pack breaks up, and if someone comes up from behind, in pack two.
